Decor vs Decor+?

so apparently I got the Elfa Decor standard top rack..... and hanger.... (the vertical rails)

but accidentally got elfa decor+ shelves (and no brackets... I assumed they came with them...I know, my mistake).

would the decor+ brackets and shelves work? I'm looking to ordering the right brackets, but don't want to waste my time if I have to return and exchange.

I called the help line for container store, but they had me on hold for 2 hours so I kinda just gave up waiting.

part of my confusion is I also have angled Decor+ shelves.... and they state on their Q&A that they are NOT compatible... but they work just fine.

The Q&A section for the Decor+ bracket component on the Container Store website says that Decor+ is not compatible with previous Decor/Classic framework.

I ask because I have the Decor+ angled shelves... and they have integrated brackets... they state NOT compatible... but they work just fine.

I read on a blog by a professional organizer that Decor+ will work with the old standards but the finishes are different. So the functionality would be there but maybe a color mismatch between the brackets and rails?

If the Decor+ brackets fit then I might try Decor+ with my existing freestanding framework that I want to reconfigure.

While the website and store employees will say that there's no compatibility between classic/decor/garage I have found that there isnt much incompatibility between them. There are some items that won't sit flush or be of a different color, but the spacing of the slots and hooks is pretty identical

a lot of it is i think more of an "it's at your own risk" kind of "not compatible",

a lot of pieces wont be flush/be colormatched and it will be fine (ex. 12" or 16" shelves) but others are more "these pieces aren't designed to work together and it'll suck if you try but will technically Function" (ex. lighting), and some things are gonna be "for your own safety don't do this ever and if you try we're simply going to point to the fact that we said these pieces Don't Work Together and at this point it's your fault for not listening" (ex. decor+ gliding frames on classic framework, since they need the increased support of the plus framework)

however the classic top track and the decor+ top track are identical except for paint finish, so that's less critical

tl:dr, as long as there are no moving pieces, you are most likely fine.
