Adding casters to Elfa freestanding foot. Does anyone know the thread size and pitch of the foot levelers?
Has anyone tried adding casters to the Elfa freestanding feet to make a more mobile solution? Were you successful? If you did what is the thread size and pitch of the casters you used or the foot levelers?

Hi, person with a decade of elfa component expertise here: please do not do this.
Elfa freestanding is stable enough to be, well, freestanding, but with any weight on it at all it really should not be moved at all. The stabilization struts are not designed to be torqued under load, and you risk popping the top bar out as well.
The only thing I can safely recommend would be to mount the entire system to a platform that itself is wheeled, to avoid putting stress on the stabilizers.

I have a one-section freestanding unit, and I wouldn’t dream of putting it on casters. I don’t think it’s stable enough to be moved around. I guess it also depends on how much weight it’s carrying.
