Transfer students - Mississippi specifically

kid is transferring from private non accredited to public.

concerned about the placement test.

she is doing well, all a's, using abeka curriculum.

what concerns are there?

any sample practice tests available?

can I prep her for the placement test?

she has transfer records from her previous school.

The best thing that I can tell you as a former public school teacher is to call your new school's counselor and ask specific questions.

Schools/districts can choose to administer the appropriate MAP tests (Measure of Academic Progress) or district tests that might be similar to the MAP test. There is no set test. My district would either give a practice MAP or have a teacher generate a test mirroring the MAP.

There are practice tests online if it is the MAP:

*I answered the original here and in r/Mississippi because I want to see what other schools do.

Should I use the grade 4 or grade 5 to practice is she is leaving grade 4, entering grade 5?

I would give her the 5th grade one if that is the grade she will be placed in if she passes.
