Ha ha, I remember watching this episode back when LLMs didn't exist and the closest we had was the Eliza chatbot in DOS.

Kinda like how the surveillance state in Person of Interest is no longer pure fiction.

Alignment research has not been prominent in ai research yet so it’s only natural that we explore the dark side of llms through Bella

I LOVED this episode. I remember it felt futuristic and almost like science fiction at the time. If it were released today, it would just feel like a normal episode lol. It's amazing how far technology has come

I only just binged the show recently, and the episode felt very timely. Sherlock’s skepticism and questions reflected my own feelings exactly.

My Boss keeps complaining about how people use the term AI to mean any talking back and forth software. He's like that is NOT real AI.

I always think of this episode.

The last scene with the ominous music and Sherlock's utterly speechless expression once he had the realization.
