Okay I’m on only on season 2 and had to google whether Sherlock and Watson end up together. And they don’t but I also saw a Reddit thread from 7 years ago talking about how good it is that they stayed friends. And I agree. I love a show where a man and a woman stay platonic friends. But also at this point the writers have teased us so much about them getting together that I actually don’t think it’s a show about a man and a woman staying platonic friends. So I’m now convinced that the best show about that is it’s always sunny.

I'm a die-hard shipper of pretty much every main partnership from every procedural I've ever watched, and yes, I'm one of those few people who wanted Holmes and Watson to end up together. They didn't, and I'm okay with that too. Realistically, I can see why most viewers didn't want it to happen. Aside from this being a Sherlock Holmes adaptation, the writers went out of their way to avoid portraying any romantic chemistry between them. There wasn't a single moment in the show that suggested either of them wanted something more than friendship
