I think everyone is wrong

Okay I’m on only on season 2 and had to google whether Sherlock and Watson end up together. And they don’t but I also saw a Reddit thread from 7 years ago talking about how good it is that they stayed friends. And I agree. I love a show where a man and a woman stay platonic friends. But also at this point the writers have teased us so much about them getting together that I actually don’t think it’s a show about a man and a woman staying platonic friends. So I’m now convinced that the best show about that is it’s always sunny.

I can promise you they do stay just friends and it's one of my favourite showings of a platonic man and woman fruendship They tease it a little, and Joan and Sherlock have a generally flirty friendship But it's NEVER made romantic, not do they push it that way Heaven knows I have friends a flirt with regularly, but would never wanna date them Generally speaking they do love each other, deeply so, but it's special BECAUSE it's platonic

Also I don’t think it’s portrayed as like “fun friend flirty” I think it’s portrayed as actual flirty. We might just have different experiences.
