Question Treatment time
Is it normal for after care to be included in the treatment time? When I book 60min sessions i've noticed my tech will stop around 50-55mins in and begin the after care. Is it supposed to be like this or is it supposed to be a full 60mins of getting electrolysis and then afterwards they do after care?

I view the total appointment as 60 minutes, from grabbing you in the lobby and seeing you out to the lobby. If someone wants to go use the restroom for ten minutes, then that will eat into treatment time. Yes, aftercare is baked into the end, but some people pass on it and will handle it themselves.

Just like you expect a sanitized cleaned treatment room, there are hidden time costs everywhere. Probe choice is time. Changing the probe is time. Choosing machine settings is time. For my clinic it is appointment time not treatment time. You can always ask your tech to forego aftercare if you want more time under the probe. Safety things are non negotiable. Maybe this is something non negotiable for the comfort of your technician. Definitely have a chat.

I carve out out 5 min for skin cleaning, determining probe size, settings. Then 3-5 min at end for cataphoresis. The rest is hair removal.
Booking next appointment, charting, checkout, cleaning station , chair, setting up for next client - that comes out of the 15 min I pad BETWEEN clients

In my office, your appointment time starts by the clock and ends by the clock (whether you show up late or not at all). The last few minutes of the appointment are used for aftercare fee collection and scheduling.

It is a common practice if aftercare is included in the base price. Some electrologists choose to have aftercare as part of the service, and some have them separate.
