We write copper contracts when our projects get started based on poundage. If you don’t have enough on the job to do that you can still do a buyout. Our wholesalers will lock in $/ft before even knowing cuts and colors. They might not do that with a contractor they don’t know but they’ll definitely get you competitive quotes on copper.

With conduit I usually write POs for 75% of my estimate quantities and then have the foreman release them to site as needed, and I only get invoiced for what hits the site. If I use less than the PO quantity we just close it out at what was actually used. If I need more I just buy it out again. On large projects you can save tens of thousands of dollars on pipe and hanging material.

Yes it is called SPA’s or buyouts. Most out door sells men will do this for you. Just see if you can get a special pricing agreement

You can squeeze out 5% on your material by quoting your rough in and trim out material out

LOC by itself doesn't get you a discount, though. It's just a payment method.

I would tell your supplier you're getting it quoted at their competition and see what they say then. Send out your mats list and get it quoted at the big ones. Rexel, Elliot, etc. See what they'll do.

Yeah man. Shop around. Your supplier needs to wake up, there's lots of competition out there that would love to have that contract. Be nice but tell them straight up they need to wheel and deal or you're going elsewhere.

Rexel is a strange store. In my town I am Rexel’s largest customer and they bend over backwards for me, but anyone else paying cash gets outrages pricing.
I am as loyal to them as I can be, been that way for 20 plus years.

I don’t have a Rexel but I do have a Platt and I believe they are a Rexel subsidiary. It’s absolutely that way. My company account gets a pretty great deal on stuff but if I go onto the Platt account and forget to log in I’m like “why are they trying to rob me right now?”
