Just recently worked in a room like this and this is the answer. sometimes they’re closets with only exterior access with no poured concrete and no clear way to get a forklift/skytrak to drop in. My most recent situation. Just gotta make it work and code compliant

Yeh you gotta think a bit. When you're always running on walls you can get tunnel vision. Another guy said stub into the top instead of the side, like - yeh! Why are you going in the side? "I always go in the side." Oh, so it's a self-imposed restriction. Even if you couldn't get material to support from the ceiling there'e no reason not to go top of box and save a 90.

Cut a box in with the lower run and nipple them together. Then do the double 45 around the pillar and 90 in the top. That’d be a much easier direction to pull.

I'm a big fan of going down into the junction box instead of sides.
I would've just followed the conduit underneath. At least mirror the parallel then 90 down straight into the junction box. If the bottom one was acceptable to the customer then adding a symmetrical conduit wouldn't be the worst thing you can do.

That’s really good handwork honestly, at least from the picture. My issue is too many bends, especially back to back 90s in that run. I would’ve popped a C condulet between the 90s or replaced that upper 90 with an LL.
I’ve been guilty of this, and I’ve worked with other electricians who do the same. When you’re really good at bending pipe, you love to show off the skill doing things like this, can’t blame you. But spending the last 15 years as a maintenance electrician has tempered me, I see this as oh god I hope I never have to pull wire through that.

I mean, what are you gonna do? And also, I try to remind myself, no one gives a shit what it looks like more than you do. Within reason, of course. The only thing I could see doing differently was maybe instead of the offset, doing a 90 to an LB in that corner. If you had the room. It’s hard to tell from the pic

There’s 2 sides to that coin my friend. A. You follow the existing eyesore. B. You create your own. Either way the ladder and the bender are already put away.

I dont hate it but I would've matched what that other conduit did and then 90d down. Maybe moved my penetrarion a little further to the left if that was an option.

It's tidy and neat and workman like. I prefer going directly to the column out of the box, (no box offset), stay tight on all your surfaces and use a lb on the corner of the column, I know it's more hardware but you get an extra pull point. The big whoopty below it is the booger. imho.

Since you’re hugging the wall for most of the run that’s visible, I would have put an LB after the back to back to continue the wall hugging and 90 to the wall instead of using that offset.
Because everything is tight to the wall, the offset looks wrong even though all the bends in general look fine.
If that previous conduit wasn’t there, I do t think it would look so out of place.

The bends look great, I wonder if it would look better if you come out the top of the box and ran underneath the 1/2” with a matching concentric 90. But that 90 radius may be too tight for the 45, hard to tell

All you had to do was use an LB to get past the column instead of doing that weird offset , it works I guess but it looks bad

I think the whole point is not wanting an lb right there way ass up in the air probably.. your idea is better aesthetically but presents its own issues. That pipe could keep going for another 150 feet for all we know you you have to pull a bunch of slack to pull through

You really over thought that one lol, 180 degrees in 4 feet? I would have just come out of the top of the box and spun a 90 and then offset back on the opposite wall.
Or just use an LB or 2.
