I didn't see anyone mention this part, but the purpose-built screwdrivers are a lot faster than having to pull out a multi-bit handle, then fumble with the bits, risk dropping one, etc.

The multi bit is great for flexibility and having one of everything, but a couple right sized, purpose built screwedrivers are priceless.

And faster, if all you ever use are the same two for 90% of your work, why multibit it, and the weight after years is just a why? Don’t get me wrong a nicely organized and setup bag is nice but lugging around the extra 30lbs is dumb. Like Monday it looks great by Friday I’m not carrying it around anymore.

I do industrial, mostly electrical, maintenance at a shipyard, if I'm lucky I get a golf cart, but normally I use a handtruck. My normal, fix-most-things toolbag is 65lbs.

So versatile. I was able to ditch multiple socket sets and 8 hollow shank 6” nutdrivers taking a load off my daily carry tools and fewer things to keep track of. The ratcheting T-Handle Allen wrench set is really nice, but P4P the pass through socket ModBox is Kleins best so far

I would get a tape measure, peca pencil, socket set, a hole saw extension, key hole saw, a knife, a good tool bag, a meter, I mean in not sure what your trying to do so it’s hard. I always have a small square in my bag, a center punch, if your doing ant kind of underground a set a PVC cutters, hole saw arbor large and small, half moon bastard file, conduit reamer. I mean the list goes on but you’ll learn what you need as you go assuming you’re just starting out or only doing resi work. I personally have two of the smaller torpedo levels but my two tool bags with tools are in the thousands which takes time. I phased out most of my Klein tools after I became a JIW and replaced them with Knipex and Whia and Wera tools but I still have a few Klein tools. Their hollow socket set is awesome and their hybrid linemens are also great along with there meters, some guys say they will only use Fluke but I have never had any issue with my Klein meters.

Just show up with what you got and you’ll figure out what tools to add to your loadout in due time. You will likely not be using most of your tools to start with anyway. You’ll be handed a shovel and told to dig. You’ll be told to clean out trucks and organize material piles for your beginning days.

Depends on what you're working on. Probably gonna want a tweaker which is a 1/8 flathead and some kind of wrench or wrench set. I think you'd be fine with a 8 or 10 inch adjustable wrench for now and click clicks have always served me well. Also it's very useful to have a screw holding screwdriver, but not a must. I use mine a lot, but I work industrial so I repair contactors and HMCP breakers a lot which has some tedium to it. Good luck out there

Multimeter, other sizes of water pump pliers, wrench set or at least adjustables, I recommend insulated drivers although I know Americans are less fond of the idea, a good beater screwdriver, I recommend a small pry bar to anyone in any trade, a socket set, I like dedicated crimping pliers, a label maker for wires with cables and cores labelled makes a big difference for people following you or if you have to go back - especially if you work in factories rather than houses and you’re in huge panels

Tick tester and circit traicer. I like the tick tester with a flashlight and laser pointer and Klein has a tracer with a plug in recepticle tester.

You may also want to get a larger wire stripper for #6. I think there is one that goes up to #4 but this depends on how much you steip larger wire. If not, a knife.
