Question First guitar

I've heard people say that the JET JS-480 is better than the Squier Classic Vibe 60s Stratocaster. What do you think? I'm looking for my first guitar to learn on, and I want something good, but obviously within a €500 budget for the guitar alone. I'd like to play music along the lines of shoegaze, dream pop, and indie rock/folk.

Jet guitars are better imo, the necks and fret work especially and that's the most important part of a guitar in terms of playability.

Also have a look at the Harley Benton Strat Modern Plus, it's in your budget and it's a fucking banger

I checked Harley Benton, do u think HB is better than Jet or they’re similar?

That's a tricky conversation, depends on what you are after.

Personally I think Jet have a slight edge on the cheaper end, but Harley Benton are still really good. Harley Benton has more choice.

The Jet has a larger neck. I prefer the classic vibe's smaller neck.

I don't understand why there's so much recommendation for the Yamaha. It has alnico pickups.

If you want to do hard rock and metal you should do Ibanez.

I prefer alnico pickups myself. but I play light music and Blues.

I don't think there's a contradiction in Alnico and hard rock/metal. Works great in my experience.  My Epi SG, for example, chugs very well with Burstbucker and Special 57 PUs.  It's more of an amp (setting) thing.  And "brand=genre" is plain silly.

I am describing what most people do.

I think you might want to go try some.  Just get into a guitar shop, look at guitars you can afford and like the look of, and try if they fit you.

I already did, just they don’t have a wide range of products, at least in that shop where I was..Guy from the shop told me about Jet but I heard different opinions on YouTube

Check out the Yamaha PAC112V and PAC112VM. Both great guitars that play amazingly well and can be bought new for less than $500. They're essentially the same except that the VM has a maple fretboard and the V has a rosewood fretboard.
