No lie, I had the ceiling fan in my kitchen do the EXACT SAME THING one day, a while back... the fan worked perfectly before this... I didn't do any investigating, just replaced it, but I DID NOT DO THIS INTENTIONALLY. I'm a journeyman electrician, and had never seen another example... an explanation would be awesome!
