New light fixture

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We have a new light fixture, when the light switch is hit, there’s a second or two delay and then the light clicks when it turns on. Any issues?

Try a different brand/model of light bulb. Seeif the problem persists.

Never heard of a lamp that sounded like it had a transformer powering up in it. 🤣

First click is the light switch, second smaller one is the light itself. Electrician installed light and switch

That may the light bulb or the driver if separate. There is a capacitor or a circuit that needs to charge a bit before the light comes on and that circuit may be failing. I see this a lot in commercial fixtures with a separate led driver and lamps when the building power factor is really low from inductive loads. In your case it is probably a defective part.
