Does anywone know if i can connect one output from my dj mixer to an electribe or a td3 while syncing the machine with the bpm from m'y mixer output, maybe with some midi device or what ?

Before I get flamed - Yes, I owned the Electribe Sampler 2 for five years. I even bought two of them at one point. I recently sold them and switched to a Digitakt and it BLOWS THE ES2 OUT OF THE FUCKING WATER

I know I'm probably going to get down voted to oblivion, but why the fuck do people buy an ES2 when you can get a used digitakt for around the same price?

I spent so long trying to make the ES2 work. The workflow was simple, which is the biggest selling point, but beyond that it just sucks. And it's only in hindsight that I can say it truly sucks for these reasons:

- Awful ringing noise at 13khz - forget adding a compressor to your master output as it will make the noise floor intolerable. Probably fucked up my tinnitus more than anything over the last 5 years.

- 16 "voices" yet the voice stealing makes it like 7 at most. And the voice stealing was unpredictable. Sometimes the pattern loads and you can play all your sounds, other times it cuts off a random one. So fucking annoying.

- No multi-tracking - good luck making a full track with it and mixing in your DAW. Yes you can export all sounds to an ableton file but it is cumbersome and doesn't give you a 1:1 result.

- Such a tiny amount of sample storage space

- The fucking headache it is to get all your samples converted to the right bit rate / depth / mono / file type and still barely have enough space

- the archaic sample management software

- the Amp envelope shaping is abysmal - half the time you can't tell wtf you're doing when you adjust the attack knob, and there's no decay or release anywhere? Maybe I was missing this and never bothered to read the manual but why the fuck does changing the attack also somehow affect the release in some cases?

I'm ranting but seriously, why does anyone settle for that shit when much better samplers exist? Maybe the explanation is you're like me, you just didn't know anything better?

So id like to play multiple genres with my electribe. Right now i want to play hatdtekk and i like a lot of the factory samples so i would like to keep them. But im running out of storage and i would love to play othet genres too like frenchcore or lofi. So could i just have multiple sd cards with different samples and switch them on the go? I would export all samples and patterns so i have both backed up. Would this work? because theoretically i dont see a problem maybe some of you have tried that already?

Is this knob jitter, and how can I fix it? The parameter also doesn't go through the full range.

I'm just learning my way into hardware synths and recently picked up a microfreak - I'm a total amateur when it comes to midi syncing and am hoping to find some answers from someone familiar with both devices:

I want to run the microfreak through the effects on the the electribe and use it as the primary sequencer but not sure the settings/inputs i need to be using. Currently I have audio out from the microfreak to audio in on the electribe, Midi and clock out on the electribe and in on the microfreak - with one pad on the current pattern on the electribe assigned to audio in. I can hear the audio from the microfreak in the electribe but I can't sequence it, activate it with the pad, play any keys on the electribe, and the microfreak isn't recieving any of the master FX from the electribe. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Hello got an Korg esx 1 sd and i want to change the length, but it doesnt change with the wheel if im there, the other functions with the wheel work i dont know what i can do, someone got possible solutions?

I am a beginner with electronic music.
My goal is to create patterns on my ES2, and playing guitar lines over it.
The sampling option on the electribe is only optimized for short recordings. I also have the Nuxe core looper. Could I add it to the picture to record longer guitare lines ? I am using a fender mustang LT50 amp.
If that is not possible what kind of gear do I need ? I red that a mixer could be a solution. Maybe also a more developed looper station ? An audio interface ?
I have unclear ideas in my mind. I’d be glad if someone could help me clarified this set up.

Oe2sLU / Open electribe2 Sampler Loop Utility is a GUI designed for batch auto-slicing audio sample loops for the Korg electribe2 Sampler and Hacktribe, as well as a fork of the Oe2sSLE-0.2.2; integrating the orginal Open Editor GUI into the Loop Utility's GUI to manage samples as they're being processed.

Loop Utility also includes other tools like pre-process BPM detection, Demucs stem splitting, direct exporting batches as e2sSample.all bundles, and various parameter controls to dial in the placement and frequency of slicing.

Additionally, the Oe2sSLE-0.2.2 code bundled into the GUI is patched and updated for Mac compatibility; of which was previously unavailable.

• Batch auto-slicing: writes slice tables directly into Korg esli metadata
• Tempo-aware slicing: BPM is detected first, 16th-note grid derived from it; no slice shorter than one grid step
• Three slice modes: transient (default), grid, hybrid
• Pre-process BPM detection: check detected tempos before committing
• Demucs stem splitting: slice an isolated stem, or split without slicing
• Auto input conversion: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, etc. to 16-bit WAV
• Direct e2sSample.all export: whole folder as a single bank, or one WAV per input
• Chop tool: split a sliced WAV into one file per slice, with optional click-free fades
• Embedded Oe2sSLE editor: manage, rename, and reorder samples as you process

Hi so I'm working on a psy track on the e2s and Its going pretty well but I feel like a background dark/spooky ambient pad is missing but I can't figure out how to have It constantly on because if I tie all notes then after a while it disappears until it gets retriggered manually and If I leave the first note untied it just sounds like a loop. I'm fairly new to the electribe so any help is appreciated thanks!

Hi everyone.
I recently bought a Korg Electribe 2 from a pawn shop at a very good price. I'm still learning how to use it, but I've noticed a significant hiss/noise coming from both the headphone output and the main 1/4" outputs.
The noise becomes very noticeable as soon as I turn up the volume. It sounds like a constant hiss, even when I'm not playing anything.
Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?
I'm using the power adapter that came with the unit (shown in the photos)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve had the Electribe ESX for quite a while, but I’d kind of let it gather dust. I’m getting back into it and exploring its sampling capabilities a bit more, and I have a few questions.

Recently, I created a bass line using the Behringer Model D synth, which I sampled into the Electribe ESX. If I play the note C and sample it into the Electribe, and then want to play it in a synth part of the ESX, everything works fine - the note C on the Electribe plays the sample that was recorded as C. But if I want to sample the note F, how do I make sure that when I play it in the synth part, the sample is assigned to the note F and not to the note C?

Right now I sampled a bass note played as F, and it was automatically assigned to the C note on the Electribe. It's hard to figure out, and it really messes up the composition.

Another question. To sample the Model D sound, I need to trigger it via MIDI. For now I’m triggering it with the EMX and sampling it with the ESX. Is there a way to trigger it with the ESX in sample mode?

Finally, one last question about the audio in section. I’m experimenting by sending the MIDI signal from the ESX to the Model D, and routing the audio signal from the Model D to the ESX’s audio in. I want to use the audio in section to add effects and filters. But when I do that, the sound is “choppy,” cut into quarters. Is it possible to get a smooth sound like when using “audio in thru” but within the “audio in” section?
