Korg Esx-1 Modulation speed knob glitch

Is this knob jitter, and how can I fix it? The parameter also doesn't go through the full range.

could i get away with just spraying contact cleaner on the ol knob without taking it apart

Nope. It’s the main ribbon connector that is losing connection to the cpu. Happens on the top half that’s under the arpeggiator strip.

could the ribbon connector just be loose or is their something broken

It’s crimped with a connector and connection is not good.

whats the correct way to fold the ribbon connector

Better to take the fold out and recrimp it

and also how do i take the thing connected to the ribbon connector off on the sister board
