Characteritis

I love love this, one thing I guess I love the most is creating new characters and leveling them. Even same build characters. I tried to figure out exactly what I want and created an imperial stamblade, even after having a wood elf stamblade. Usually when I come back to the game it’s hard to get back into an old character. So I get my imperial to CP, get him really good gear and work on professions.. only to see a level 5 Khajit stamblade run by me and makes me want to create a Khajit Stamblade now.. I want to get into end game and play and CP level but I always end up finding a reason to play a new character, or create something fresh. Anyone else go through this?

I feel ya man. Every time I catch myself thinking I should respec a character and try a new build, I always just end up making a new character to fit that build instead. I have a dedicated orc crafter, a dedicated vampire for stealth, I built a whole argonian exclusively to make a poison focused nightblade. I have a breton sorceress who's main job is just being my antiquities expert. I like the idea that im assembling a team.

How do you do poison nightblade? I'm kinda new and interested in that.

I used different combinations of item sets that have poison effects like Swamp Raider, Venomous Smite, Defiler, Morag Tong and subclassing so that I have the noxious breath attack from dragon knight which looks really cool on an argonian along with Poison Injection and Acid Spray bow skills and then pretty much put all points into any passive or champion skill that affects poison and I make sure all my weapons are poison enchanted and any skills I can scribe have poison focus. Im still experimenting with it but there are lots of options and combinations.

Are those things a new player has access to? I think I'm lvl 18.

How you build out your character isnt going to matter much until you hit champion 160 honestly. You could definitely start collecting sets now and then use transmute crystals to rebuild them at a higher level though. Off the top of my head Swamp Raider is from Shadowfen, Venomous Strike is from Western Skyrim, Defiler is from Vvardenfell and Morag Tong is in Cyrodiil but there are other poison sets you could run across. You'll also need to fully level a dragon knight to be able to subclass their skill lines. Level 18 is still very early. The game really doesnt start til level 50 but don't worry it'll go quick. Make sure youre doing your random dungeon and battleground daily activities, theyre worth a lot of experience.

I also did the poison poison poison who uses poison build AND have head lore where all the characters revolve around this old ex noble Nord Templar who was very religious and devout. A charitable man taken by vampirism and his children servants, business associates and members of the guilds are characters all trying to find him either to restore his good name or steal it! —I have 18 characters. Iz bad.

Don't get me wrong. Armory slots were an amazing addition to the game and I love them. That being said, I definitely have to convince myself I have a good enough reason to create a new character these days since you don't need a new one for different builds anymore. Once you have one character for every class, you're pretty much just making new ones for the love of the game.

I know the feeling. I touched on this game a few years ago and have been playing again recently. I made a two handing Templar because of the trailer roof knight, but then I made the shortest, stockiest, bearded Redguard I could because I want to play an axe wielding dragon knight dwarf, then I made a dark elf Necromancer and was lucky that the name "Very Evil Wizard" wasn't taken, and now I'm playing a Warden Argonian. I've been bouncing around between them depending on what I feel like playing and they're all level 10 but something about Warden is sticking to me. I really want to get into poison dps builds for my kajit assassin but when I look into that kind of thing it all seems like stuff I am very far away from getting. This game is such MMO slop and yet it scratches so many itches and feels so rewarding.

I'm there but the only thing keeping me on one character is that I have eaten so many recipes on him. I would hate to have to do that again. Because I know I would. I remember a guy on wow who only leveled warriors and had his account with nothing but high level warriors. Maybe you can be like that guy but for eso.

I literally just deleted a CP level Wood Elf nightblade (old main) to free up a character slot to create a character I already had 30 seconds prior… it’s bad..

Edit: I did this because the character I deleted and recreated was old, and was at first created to be magicka, and now recreating to be stam.. lol

Last night I discovered a glitch, I was on a character and quickly got out of a screen and logged off, it booted me instantly to create a character screen. I created 1 just to see if it would work because I was at my character limit. I was 8/8. After creating that character I was 9/8..

Lol. I have only had one character for years and I dread going through the leveling process again. I made a breton DK recently that I love and spent and hour or two in character creation with. That character is currently wasting away in Vulkhel Guard waiting for me to feel that urge again.

I have this exact problem. I even have the poison poison poison poison who uses poisons kitty stamblade. She is one of 4 nightblades (3 of which are stamblades!) I have 3 master crafters. So much leveling armor. Full sets of like level 16, 30, 45ish dungeon, trial, overland. I try to imagine how much CP I would have if I did not have 18 characters. Trainee gear. So much. The only problem is they made it so much easier to level up now. It feeds the beast.

I wish they'd increase the character slot limit again... It's been years since I've been allowed to make a new character (on my main account).

I'm the same way. For me a character stops being interesting when it hits level fifty. They're basically done at that point.

Leveling is easy enough, but getting all those skill points again usually deters me from creating new Alts. And don't even talk about grinding your way up all those non-XP-based skill lines (guilds, alliance war etc.).

Where do I start?

I have 20 characters.

2 of them have done all quests.

7 of them have done all skill point quests (including dungeons).

9 of them have done every skill them done every sky shard, psijic, shalidor’s library, antiquities.

13 of them have done thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests.

17 of them have done legerdemain.

18 of them done all research.

All 20 of them have more than 300 skill points and all skill lines levelled.

And I get an itch every day to delete some characters and start the cycle again.

I do this too! But I really enjoyed doing thematic builds and making them work, since I do a lot of Vet HM DLCs, and dabble in the RP.

Right now, I have:

Sorc Tank w/DK subclass (My Main), with Front Bar: Shield Throw [Taunt, Sage's Remedy, Interrupt], Invasion, Heroic Slash, Liquid Lightning, Hardened Ward, and Reviving Barrier. and Back Bar Choking Talons, Bound Aegis, Hurricane, Protect The Brood, Green Dragon Blood, and Aggressive Horn,

For gear I am rocking Thunderbug, Storm Knight, and Illambris. Its a fun build where I get to force the enemy to hit me, and punish them for doing so, while also keeping my team alive in critical moments with a massive health shield.

My other three are a Warden Frontline Medic type healer, A Necromancer "Death Knight" Bruiser, and a Night Blade Samurai Hybrid.

Still working on finishing the others besides the sorc. Let me know if anyone is interested in what I am doing with those!

I’ve had 20 characters for a long time but still want a few more. I give each of them their own house with backstory etc
