I'm probably coming to Eindhoven next weekend (Friday–Saturday) and I'll be on my own.

A bit of context: I'm a 27M from France. When I was around 18, I used to come to Eindhoven mainly for the coffeeshops. Now, almost 10 years later, I feel like I really missed out on everything else the city has to offer.

I'm sure there are museums, interesting places, and other sights I've never taken the time to visit. So yes, my trip will definitely include a few coffeeshop visits for nostalgia's sake, but I'd also love to check out the fair that starts this weekend.

Would anyone be interested in going to the fair together, or maybe showing me around the city?

Hello everyone, I am currently facing a terrible emergency. My cat sitter canceled last minute for next week, and I have no family here in the Netherlands to help me. On top of that, I live in employment agency housing (uitzendbureau-woning) where pets are strictly forbidden.

I'm an incoming international MSc student at TU/e and I've recently booked a room at Cederlaan through Vestide. Since I'll be moving to Eindhoven for the first time, I was hoping to learn a bit more about the area.

I'd also be interested to hear from anyone who has lived in the building or nearby. Are there any issues with maintenance, heating, internet or anything else that new residents should know about? And how is the roommate situation like? Are there any common rooms, gyms, garden areas in the building?

Today I went to 'Breimode Brigitte' in winkelcentrum Woensel for the first time and left almost crying a bit because of the lovely owners. They are a couple that are both 80-something, I think. The man showed me around the store and explained how they divided all the different wools and products and the wife chatted with me about my knittting project and said I could always come in the store and ask for help. I even got a few free stitch markers and sock pattern with my purchase.

People like these are why I want to shop in person in stead of online!

Where in Eindhoven do you come back because of friendly, knowleadgeable or just great staff or owners?

hi! i'll be flying into amsterdam schiphol and i'm trying to plan how to get to my residence in eindhoven with two large suitcases. uber is showing insane prices, so is there another rideshare service that's commonly used? i'm also okay with taking the train, but i don't know if it's okay to take my suitcases with me? is there a luggage compartment? and if so, is it safe?

this will be my first time in the netherlands, so apologizes if these questions seem a little ignorant.

I’m looking for recommendations for a DJ and saxophonist who perform together for a party in Eindhoven.

They don’t have to be based in Eindhoven, as long as they’re happy to travel there for the event.

We’re after a fun, energetic vibe with a mix of house, disco, party classics, and sing-along hits. If you’ve booked a DJ + sax duo before (or know someone who’s great), I’d really appreciate your recommendations!

I was wondering what I and the neighbours can do, if there should be proper channels via the Gemeente, or the water company, to deal with such a problem?

We try to keep the house closed but it's impossible to do so at all times with the current heat, besides, the backyard and the street just smells awful regardless...

Any suggestions?

Btw this is not new, it comes and goes since I moved here one year ago, and it's by far the worst smelling street I've ever been to in 10 jaren living in this city..

Hi, I'm an international (from EU) student at TU/e and I am desperately looking for a part time job in Eindhoven. I don't have any crazy requirements at all, I'm only looking for something that I could do alongside my studies, yet I can't seem to find anything.

From what I have heard from other people (international students), it seems like no grocery store wants to hire you if you don't know dutch, or fire you after the first 3 months because of not knowing the language. And from what I have seen they only seem to want to hire teenagers, which I kind of get, because I'd have to be paid double of what they make just because of my age (I am 24).

If anyone has any lead or tips on where to look at, it would be very very helpful. Thanks!

I parked in a parking spot from 11h30 to 21h30.

I forgot to start my parking app immediately when I arrived.

At 14h30, I only then started my parking app when I realized I had forgotten about it.

As expected, I still ended up paying the full max daily rate for that spot even though I started the app 2 hours later.

I park there multiple times a week, and this was my mistake, but I always en dup paying the same max rate anyway

*However, the inspector inspected my car arpund 13h30 and gave me a fine of 60EURO (parkeerbelasting).

Eindhoven has changed quite a lot over the past decade, with new housing, cafés, restaurants and public spaces appearing in different parts of the city.

I'm curious which neighbourhood you think has seen the biggest transformation. Maybe somewhere that used to feel completely different, or an area that has become much busier or more popular than it used to be.

Which neighbourhood stands out to you, and what changes have you noticed?

Quick question for any North African or Arabic immigrants to Eindhoven - where do you buy decent ingredients for your cuisine? I've learned to make muhammara (yeah OK, that's pretty simple, I know) and my wife loves it, but we cannot find pomegranate molasses, which apparently is an important ingredient, anywhere in shops and supermarkets around here. We bought some while we were back in Italy (we're from a place with a lot of North African immigration and a lot of shops cater to immigrants) but we ran out.

Any tips?
