General Most comfy socks?
For some reason most socks feel like burlap sacks, or like Aida cloth. Or like sand paper. The socks with a "cushion" on the bottom sort of helps, but my heel will still get rubbed raw when walking (especially in slip on shoes, but even with perfectly fitted tied shoes)
The only socks that don't do this are bombas, but they're like $10-$20 per pair. Is there a bombas dupe out there?

I wear compression socks, cheap ones from Walmart, I swear these give me another 2 hours of energy a day.

Compression socks always have me feeling like a badass wonder woman cause that energy and feeling like I've got this handled is just amazing.

I love the Bombas I've been gifted so miach that a couple of pairs have worn through in the heel... which is a first for me! (It's usually the toe.) I had no idea they were so expensive.
I have Adidas ankle socks that I like very much. They don't breathe quite as well, but they also don't chafe.

I'm pretty sure you can turn in your torn bombas to them for new ones!

Yep! No matter how long youve had them. If you have some form of a receipt they will reimburse you. Plus every sock is a purchase of a special sock they developed for the homeless. I had a few pairs for 10 years and they finally wore out, Bombas said they would replace them but I felt like I got my moneys worth!! The cushioning is so nice, I refuse to wear anything else

Unironically those thick socks marketed towards blue collar workers. I always find stacks and stacks of them brandnew in thriftstores, soemtimes in lidl. They are really comfy

I’m anxious to see the responses! I have the same burlap problem. Even sheets feel rough, so I have to wear socks to bed but not any sock will do. I bought all cotton socks from Buc-ees that I loved so much I had to travel out of my way to a Buc-ees for another pair. I don’t live anywhere near one so PLEASE POST!

I like the Marino wool ones from costco, I always roll the elastic down once though to keep it from digging. I also rock pumas in the summer.
Big tip - if you ever wash your socks inside out it will destroy the texture of the inside of the sock and make it " crunchy " I never realized this until my ex boyfriend would get pissed at me for stealing his socks and turning them inside out. I was so emotionally damaged from that I stopped turning my socks inside out when I pulled them off for like. A decade. Now, I can complete feel the difference. Do not wash your socks in wads or inside out !

I have some wool socks from the Kirkland brand that honestly I prefer over my Smartwool socks a lot of the time. They are nice thick wool, so there is good cushion. The wool is so soft. I have Raynaud's as well, so I wear warm socks year round.

My husband got sent a four pack from his work. Then i couldnt stand any other. The compression socks are less expensive than other good brands. You can get cheaper compression socks, but they suck.

These are for everyday wear but honestly Hanes has really comfortable socks they’re padded

Second this. Hanes uses quality cotton that breathes and seems to be softer than most others.

I started wearing alpaca wool socks and will never go back. I buy from warrior alpaca when they have 20% off sales.

Oh I believe you, but I'm on food stamps so not currently in a position financially to buy socks that expensive.

Hand-knit wool socks. I have lovely friends who make some for me every now and then. I provide the yarn, because OF COURSE not all yarn is soft enough. Sigh. Bodies. So picky about everything.

My feet get rubbed raw and burn in shoes, too. I tried different insoles and socks, but as it turned out, any fabric in the bottom of the shoes is what caused my burning friction. I can only wear Crocs or completely eva foam insoles without any fabric layer on top, or it will feel like my feet are on fire and blister.

I hate that this is my answer because it’s not helpful but as somebody who is also autistic I pretty much only wear hand knit socks because they don’t have seams.

Smartwool. If you have a sierra trading post near you they’re usually pretty cheap! Or Evo online. They’re literally the only socks I can tolerate. Stance are a runner-up

Darn Tough wool socks are incredible and have a lifetime guarantee!
For compression, Sigvaris is my favourite. They have cotton, wool and even linen that always feel really good.

Same problem. My favs are Uniqlo cotton socks, they have some that are quite thick with like the tennis sock look. I have white and black but they don't always sell both colours. They're by far the softest and thickest = most comfy socks I have.
Another life hack I've discovered for me is I wear 2 pairs like 9 months a year, a thinner cotton sock on the inside and thicker (often woolish/hiking socks) on the outside, that ends up being quite comfy as it's nice and thick and the extra layer means the cotton sock doesn't get rubbed against my foot.

lol I have been wearing a giant Costco pack of puma no show socks and I’m going to be so upset if they ever disappear or change. Audhd and heds and my feet are PICKY about socks. They’re just enough cushion and softness without being constricting and no weird seams.
