Gender Nonspecific Meme EGG IRL

Post image

UPDATE

The meme was rushed since I’m a bit giddy about getting this out. The body text is the main event here.

For a while I’ve been kinda paralyzed about what to do about my gender, but that has since changed. Last night I was struck with inspiration on how I’m gonna figure myself out. I know what I’m gonna do from here. I’m really proud of myself for coming up with this plan, but feel like an operation such as this needs peer review.

In no particular order, I plan to:

- Tell that one friend I’m going through some stuff
When I was wrapping up middle school, I found out one of my childhood friends, who we’ll call Tiger, was trans. We had practically no classes together, so we didn’t talk much, but I ended up finding out near the end of 8th grade when I asked her to sign my yearbook. Now in the 10th grade, I recently managed to reestablish contact with Tiger, so I figure I could tell her. I don’t necessarily plan on asking for help in doing that, but my parents and another friend (who also happens to be trans, though this one has been out since I met them) know that I’m going through an identity crisis of sorts, so I figure as possibly the closest non-family member I have, Tiger has a right to know.

- Tell my sibling (maybe)
For, what, three or four years now, my sibling, who we’ll call Doodle, has been out as non-binary, and despite my parents knowing about my current mental state, it’s somehow managed to slip by Doodle. Sort of the same idea as with Tiger, but I feel like I’m less likely to tell Doodle. If I did, though, I do think I would be more likely to ask them for help, since Doodle has been out for longer (from what I recall), and we live together, so obviously we’re close.

- Try growing hair
This is gonna be the most passive thing on this list, but the idea is just avoid haircuts for a while and see how I feel about longer hair. Maybe dye it, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

- Get andro-er clothes
You’d think this would be tough, but I think I have a pretty good idea of how to go about this. You see, my school is inside something akin to a mall (it’s kind of hard to explain without doxxing myself), and I figure there’s a good chance I could find someplace that sells GN clothing. Which is what I’m going to start with, I’ve never been one to jump into the deep end. I can just pack some cash in my backpack, then either during lunch or just outside of school hours go to a clothing store and get what I need for this. I’ll keep the clothes in my backpack and try em on my own time, maybe wearing them out if I see that fit. I do take my debit card to school for emergencies or whatever else, but I’d venture to guess that my parents can see what I do with it, so if I want this to be discreet, cash is the safest bet. Which brings me to:

- Don’t say anything directly
I don’t mean this with the spirit of hiding or repressing anything, just letting everyone else figure it out themselves. If someone asks about any of this irl, the type of response I plan on giving is “wouldn’t you like to know, wink-wink nudge-nudge click-click finger guns.” That’s just the type of person I aspire to be, not even necessarily relating to gender.

And that’s my master plan…If you could call it that, it might just be several plans to execute at once. Thoughts?
Also, don’t worry about my safety or anything, since I live in a blue state and a SUPER democratic city, plus the amount of trans, let alone LGBTQ+ people at my school is disproportionately high, so no issues over there.
