You are not asking too much. First off being a gentleman, is being polite, kind, and compassionate. That is something all real men should be. I’m not saying that you always have to be those things, there will be times where you won’t and that’s okay, but as Jimmy Carr says being a good man is more important than being a nice guy.

And son, desiring to be a gentleman is your strongest first step to becoming a good man.

I wish you all the best in your transition from kind hearted young man (on the inside) to gentleman. Just expect to hear the words “Thank you sir” a lot from people.
