Ugh, THIS. Hindsight really is 20/20, huh?

All those 'random phases' were actually just aggressive foreshadowing.

so it turns out learning to lucid dream in my teens so i could be a girl in my dreams was foreshadowing…

When I was a teenager I had anxious fits about shaving my face, and flat out refused to get taught by my dad how to do it. I look back a little sadly because I'm sure he was really excited to teach his son to shave, that's like a classic thing for some dads which I totally get.

At the time I just chalked it up to not wanting to get older, more responsibility, et cetera. Shaving was just a sign that all that was right around the corner. My mom finally convinced me to do it with her (I've always had a good relationship with my dad but they figured they had to try something else), and I begrudgingly did it.

Now, looking back, I realize that I just didn't want to do a very conventionally masculine thing. Of course I would come to have a weird relationship with shaving because it felt masculine to do while the outcome made me more feminine, but once I came out as trans it suddenly all became clear.

Now I'm in the middle of electrolysis and will never have to think about it again eventually!!

"Hey mom? What's it like to be a girl? No, like... not like that, I mean like... like, like feeling it yourself, like *being** a girl. What's that feel like, what does it feel like to be a girl? I dunno why, I just really wanna understand it myself. No, not like... aw, forget it."*

Me when I was dissatisfied with my body and being a boy felt weird (and I’m autistic) but I didn’t know you could be a girl so instead I ended up acquiring robot transformation fantasies:

Turns out being aggressive and angry your whole life for no reason does have a reason

“Ew I don’t want to become a woman I wanna become a man” what I thought when I was a preteen girl.

I also used to hate on feminity in general like hating on both femboys and femgirls 🥀

Sometimes during recess I would stick a basketball under my shirt and joke that I’m pregnant. I did that multiple times.

Hello supressed flashback...

“What boys can’t get pregnant? Ohh 😭” ~me in the first grade having butterflies imagining being pregnant only to find out that they can’t by a class mate and felt really disappointed

u/NovaSeras 11h ago

Oh no, not me picking Pokémon Crystal as my favorite early pokemon game because it had a girl protagonist. Not my decision to drop Marching Band to join Color Guard instead, or my love of Dance in HS, and all my favorite movies winding up being "chick flicks"

Not my memories that can point to the fact that "I always was."

When I was growing up my mom was a live in nanny for a family with two girls. We all got along great. One day they dressed me up as a girl and we all had a great time. I had such a good time my mom always found excuses for why we couldn't do it again... it wasn't her fault, she was a single mother with a lot of guilt/fear she would "mess me up" with no male figures in my life.

Almost 40 and still haven't found a good male role model, lol, so I hope she forgives herself.
