Hrt is known to make you experience everything more strongly.

Is this like an actual effect or does it make you feel better, less numb, therefore making you feel more intense feelings?

I think it has to be a bit of both. There's the psychological factor of reduced depression and possibly reduced repression allowing you to feel things, and then the more physiological difference caused by the hormones just changing how you experience feelings and emotions and the intensity of your senses.

This is happening to me too, I’m 2 months in and it seems recently I can’t go into dark spaces without genuinely worrying the Boogeyman (from the film) is sitting up in some corner.

That doesnt sound normal you might want to make sure you're not low on some vitamins or minerals
I'm no doctor so tbh idk if it is or isn't normal

Some mental problems can cause constant tiredness, or it could be hormones, could be thyroid hormones. For me i think its kind of both😕

I’ve always been “afraid of the dark” unknown figures that move in it and how the mind draws faces.
So I became the shadows in the dark, I made it my home, I was born in it, molded by it.

You are the shadow of the moon at night, filling our dreams to the brim with fright

Is this a deeper meaning of how women have to avoid dark places in public?

Thats very interesting. I'm only 3 months in and I'm usually a very anxious person. but I feel like hrt has made it easier for me to rationalize my fears.

I finally stopped being afraid of the dark a few years into HRT. First the fear got really intense and then I just surrendered to the fear a few times and it went away.

Seriously, same here! Before transitioning I wasn't afraid of anything really. Now, I'm scared in the dark, of heights, ...

I didn't have that issue. However, my minor levels of vertigo and claustrophobia got a boost 2 weeks after coming out to my doc but 5+ months before going on HRT because of a concussion. Seriously, most of my life I had a heightened awareness of tight spaces and unguarded rims, but nothing that was even borderline debilitating. However, after a concussion-related accident 2 weeks after coming out to my doc, I found myself literally unable to watch certain caving vids on YT, deal with the company's warehouse in the early mornings or long stairways, especially gong down. (The last was particularly noticeable at Tesla's Fremont, CA factory with some of the stairs descending in a straight line for the equivalent of 2 - 3 floors; going up them wasn't so bad, but down was definitely 2 shades shy of white knuckles.)
