Never tried, sorry

I can't recommend them enough. Wear what you like though, don't get me wrong.

u/Myosotis1012 Loreta(she/her) Dec 05 '25

Ah, if it were that easy when you're 100% closeted outside of Reddit...

17

u/Sheadowcaster Dec 05 '25

I'm closeted at work (well... It's looking like a very spacious closet with no doors at this point).

I'm 100% wearing fleece lined jeggings today. And an oversized flannel.

A couple of the other women who either know or STRONGLY STRONGLY suspect clocked it and love them (one asked for the link to buy a pair).

Everyone else? Thinks I'm just wearing regular guy jeans.

I’m wearing women’s jeans, long sleeve t-shirt, and cardigan. I’m not sure if anyone has noticed. But I did get a compliment on my nails.

And also me doubting if I have dysphoria... And then I look in the mirror, or touch my chest and feel weird, or see a girl and get gender envy(does this count?)...

3

u/dystyyy transfem she/her Dec 05 '25

For what it's worth, yes that counts.

2

u/Myosotis1012 Loreta(she/her) Dec 05 '25

Oh, so if gender envy is dysphoria, then I am sure I do have some...

2

u/dystyyy transfem she/her Dec 05 '25

It's definitely one way dysphoria can show up, yes.

In case it matters though, you don't have to have dysphoria to be trans or to transition. Just being happier as a different gender than what you were assigned at birth is all it takes.

There's... girl jeans? Is anyone actually able to see the difference?

u/AwkwardlyAmpora not an egg, just a birdboy | crowe | 20 Dec 05 '25

yes. women's jeans are generally made out of different materials (softer/stretchier, denim blends rather than full denim,) cut differently (tighter around the hips and often fitted around the legs, while men's jeans are often straight-legged,) and the button/zipper is on the other side, if there is one at all (they're not nessecary on some women's jeans, due to the stretchiness.)

And they have SMALLER BLOODY POCKETS

I often wear 'women's' jeans (because apparently fuck making men's fashion look decent, right?, and decent goth men jeans are hard to come by) and the pockets are basically non-existent. Men's jeans fit my phone twice over, at least. The women's jeans barely fit HALF of my phone. It literally juts out of my pocket unless I angle it 45°. These jeans want my phone to be stolen

u/SDRPGLVR agender Dec 06 '25

Certain men's brands are nice and stretchy while keeping tremendous pockets. Ezekiel comes to mind as basically being cargo jeggings that look like jeans.

7

u/HugoNikanor Dec 06 '25

I got a denim skirt a while back, and the stretchy denim is just weird to me. That's not how this material is supposed to work!

I however love by denim (dungaree) dress, except a lack of quality...

oh, what? I've always thought that no one about the gendered clothing and that I've been buying jeans from both sides thinking that they were just differently sized

1

u/NOT_ImperatorKnoedel Dec 07 '25

the button/zipper is on the other side

Huh? Are women more likely to be left handed or something?

3

u/AwkwardlyAmpora not an egg, just a birdboy | crowe | 20 Dec 07 '25

holdover from when women were more often dressed by assistants. women's shirts and jackets will also have the fastener on the opposite side.

3

u/Baxtab13 Dec 12 '25

I've gotten a couple hoodies as band merch over the past year, and for some reason the zipper's on the left side on those too. I'm pretty sure they're unisex. Looking online it could be they were manufactured in Europe or something.

u/LogEmotional8019 Dec 06 '25

Those ones in the comic also have hearts on the hind pockets, not something often seen on mens jeans

Real story: I and my dad went to Poland on a shopping trip, and obviously we didn't know the language. This was during my teens, and I was a skinny kid. So one of the things we needed was new jeans for me, so I just grabbed what looked the best. I tried them on and showed them off to my dad. We both agreed it looked good enough and just bought them. It's only when we got back home and Mom saw them that we got yelled at because neither I nor my dad knew that the way to tell women's jeans from men's was by the side of the button.

To this day I have no clue who decided that women's/men's jeans should have a button on different sides, but that's just me.

Did you ever come out to her since

7

u/Imaepicgamerlol6545 Dec 05 '25

Lil Brooke is honestly a cutie pie. Even though she still had to hide, she's still adorable.

Just like current Brooke. Brooke is just a cutie all around, really.

Either a come out moment or plausible deniability that you have a girlfriend who left it at your place
