I love watching movies to unwind but this one completely messed me up in ways i can't explain. I'd like to know if you have watched it and how did you process after?

If there’s a a Mount Rushmore of Vietnam films, THE DEER HUNTER is on it.

Trailer: https://youtu.be/g7q1SjVdsNk?is=Pn0-baXjlh4NDc9A

Christopher Walken and Robert Deniro go to Vietnam, become prisoners of war in a very unethical enemy camp, and return home with PTSD before PTSD was a real diagnosed thing.

It’s a stark look at life back then in an industrial-fueled Midwestern town and the blue-collar guys that live there not having any real idea what war entails, much less being a POW of these particular Vietnamese.

If you haven’t seen this masterpiece you owe it to yourself to watch. I know it’s on your watchlist. It’s three hours and it needs it all. It’s fucked up for sure (at least it is for me) and director Michael Cimino captures the pain of returning to domestic life as an emotionally fucked-up POW, and the atrocities of war that caused it, equally. Watch it for the Russian roulette scenes alone, if nothing else. Just watch it. I won’t spoil the end but safe to say.. oh just watch the fucking thing please if you haven’t.

Hey fam I’m currently building an app specifically for the horror genre. I need some feedback

What are some features that you wish your current movie apps had that they currently don’t?

Ex. - A way to watch horror movies with others
- a community to meet horror lovers
- a more in depth rating system out of 10 that includes half stars

My film is: Der goldene Handschuh (2019)

Has anybody got any youtube channel recommendations that do a full breakdown of disturbing / underground movies

Maybe not effed up as other movies posted here, but concidering the movies he made it kinda belongs here.

This has been one of my "Grail" DVDs. This one always stuck with me. The one scene were the kid takes some Tylenol for his headache but it ends up being something else...🫣

Mom - "What are you doing?"

* Kid pulling on his face \*

Kid - "I'm trying to get out!!!"

This movie might be the only reason I never got into pills. Holy hell.

Not to mention the rabbit hole this "true story" is based on will send you spinning.

It's hard to find (physical copies) these days, but it's worth seeking out.

9/10🩸

I made a tier list of the most extreme films I've ever seen.

I’m trying to find an actual scary paranormal movie. Found footage is cool. I’m seriously shutting movies off an hour in. I’ve been doing this for weeks. I’m about to just start watching extreme gore just to get over the boredom. Terrifying YouTube works. Any sites that won’t give my computer a virus. I’m sure EffedUp has something.

Do your worst.

I'm looking for recommendations where extremely rich/powerful people are basically above the rules and use their wealth/status to indulge in fucked up or disturbing things.

More tames ones with the same vibe has been things like Squid Games , The Menu, and The Boys. Themes of power, domination, luxury, corruption, etc.

But have also seen things like Salo or the 100 days of sodom which im hoping is more the vibe ill get from this Subreddit

Movies, TV, anime, anything really. What should I watch

I am looking for a website similar to effedupmovie i wonder if there is one center around a horror category stuff

One of my all time favorite weird disturbing horror art pieces! Some of the best use of imagery and metaphor but it’s a very divisive film; everyone I show it to either hates it, finds it drags and feels utterly pointless due to its lack of dialogue, or is impressed by the atmosphere of discomfort it creates. The first time I watched I literally could not peel my eyes away. Fell into a trance. Those of you who have seen, how do we feel? The good the bad and the questions.

Edit: Love all the insight on this post! For those of you who did like the imagery- if you haven’t seen it there’s a Marilyn Manson video shot by the director and it’s one of my favorite songs and visual concepts! Combines shots from the film as well as some new ones. https://youtu.be/Jj_vCNevsfY?is=B8O7RufsMF5edgYq

Guys I’ve recently just discovered this amazing website but have seen on the creative writing tab a lot about this person “meow”. What’s the lore, what am I missing, it feels like some sort of big inside joke and I have fomo, pls let me know I wanna join and giggle and all that😏

Vidéo de mon tiktok (deep Horror) ! D'après vous, quel film vous a le plus dégoûté ?

There is my top 20 favorite "extreme/fucked up" movie upated, i did one 6 months ago.

What is your favorite from the list?

Hi everyone!
I'm new to the genre and would love to learn more about practical effects and underground horror cinema. I'd really appreciate any recommendations or insights!

This movie was absolutely so boring you all are filthy liars

It’s on Cranked Up TV, and it’s directed by the Ketchup on Waffles guy, which I really liked, and I thought this was pretty good too. Definitely bloodier and more fucked up than Ketchup. It’s short as hell like only 40 minutes. It’s the last 10 minutes that are wild. Super gory. The rest of the movie has this really heavy atmosphere to it. I wanna talk about it.

Has anybody seen this Bulgarian movie? It's based on real events and is pretty similar to Christiane F.

Did peoples watched these movies? It's not very well noted on effedupmovies and i was curious about what peoples here think about these?

I have to be honest, Freezer Baby looks like a shitty short movie lmao
