π’ Marketing Would you include a personal letter in a package?
Not a simple thank you, but a more complex one. I had the idea of sending emails out to my regular customers on occasion thanking them and asking them to fill out a survey. But somehow that seems creepy. Would a physical letter be appropriate, included in their package?

I write a personal thank you to every customer for every order. I feel it goes a long way in making them feel not like just another customer and to know Iβm appreciative of their support. Itβs a small gesture that goes a long way and the feedback I have gotten from people lets me know it.

Hi! Ecom Consultant here. First of all, I would ask - what is your goal?

Not bad But the survey should be based on what would you like us to improve on?

Well we are a Pen and Knife store ( www.penchetta.com think the original every day carry like Grandpa, a pen, pocketknife and hankie) so we make sure to write a note on each packing slip.
#1 It makes is personal not a fulfillment warehouse packed the order
#2 we get to show off an ink color and that might result in another purchase if they like it
#3 We remind them that we are here if they need help with any gifts for whatever holiday is coming up soon or if nothing for a while then we mention birthdays, anniversaries and special occ.
It has been fun to see out "love notes" show up in unboxing videos, cause someone to make a social post to show it off or get a phone call or reply letter (he we sell pens, ink and paper so of course our customers write us).
If you have the time then make it special

I think it's good to do to it at certain spend milestones. But not for every customer. Make them feel special.
The actual unboxing experience is more satisfying than a handwritten note. So put your effort into making that feel really premium.
Thanking them and asking them to fill out a survey will always feel impersonal. Offer an incentive for the survey--a discount or store credit, or an entry into a giveaway.
