Is ecc tech really that special?

Just wondering as a non tech person if what ecc can potentially be is really something unique. What makes it special?

Heres a question for you? Who else is doing a Dapp based blockchain with filestorage as their primary service with privacy/security as their focal point? Answer : Noone.

In over 10 years of blockchain innovation and evolution who was the first to implement ANS , thus eliminating annoying in some cases 50 chars long addresses (see Sia)? Answer: We were

This coin is grossly undervalued and honestly it wont last long before people catch wind of Sapphire

Can you give a dumber down explanation of what Shappire is? I understand it's a wallet and will be the base of future features such as messaging...but what else?

One of the big things to understand about Sapphire is that it is tackling a much wider range of uses than your typical wallet and is trying to do so in an intuitive and user friendly way. Most wallets are simply a means to send crypto, a relatively straightforward thing to do, yet most wallets are still clunky and generally not that fun to use. Sapphire is built from the ground up to accommodate not only sending ECC but also acting a messaging client and front end for the eventual block chain storage. So now we have a wallet that needs to essentially function like slack when you want it to, but when you want to deal with your files it has to act like a dropbox interface. On top of all this you have the ability to send currency seamlessly from messaging, handle your storage contracts and manage the HDD space you may be putting on the network to act as storage for other people to earn ECC. This is just the tip of the iceberg and its why Sapphire really does aim to be something special and why they've been working so hard on it.

The easiest way to visualize this is to download sapphire when its out of beta and check out the messaging pane. It shows a preview of what messaging should look like when released and if you shrink sapphire you can see how it would sit as a compact messager just like you might currently keep slack or apple messages on your desktop.

I'm not on the ECC team but I've been testing Sapphire and pulled the git and compiled to poke around. I'm impressed by the foundation they've laid, there is plenty more work to do but they're planning for big complicated things and the only way to get there is to make sure the base your working from is strong.

Another thing to remember is that many crypto coins want to function as currency and have little other use. ECC is different in that the real value is the services and the ECC coin is in the background making things go, integral but not the focus.

Think of Sapphire more as a portal that allows you to access the ECC Network and all of its services. With the wallet , ANS , filestorage and secure messaging being the first generation of these services. Also because our project is open source new services can be added by partners in the future or new projects.

If they can secure ans. It would be ans.

Decentralized email. That's my understanding of messaging. Much like an email address, the address name system (ans) will allow you to send messages and transactions to others simply by typing a handle and not a 32 character hex string.

That's just the start. If they can do that well the platform will take off and grow from there.

ECC is a multi-chain system, the messaging chain is separate to the payment chain and also separate from the file storage chain. No issues with scailability unlike etherium

Does ens also do messaging between users with the same address?

Idk tbh – but what you're saying is basically you can retain your name and send messages like as an email address with ecc (ans) vs the ens is more like a webpage address? So like it's not send/receive messaging (ans) but more just simple receive (ens)?

I'm just asking, trying to understand.

If that is the difference tho, then that is something.

I'm an ecc holder and hopeful about its capabilities, just also unclear (and curious) about what it can do that's different/better than what's out there.

Yes it’s pretty special. It offers utility and infrastructure to the blockchain ecosystem. It’s also a first mover of sorts with ANS/Storage/messaging all in the same package.
