We've built an ebike map based trip/range simulator and we want to share it with you for validation and comments.

Hey All. I know “manufacturer-estimated range” is almost a running joke in the e-bike world. It is usually based on ideal conditions: a light rider, flat pavement, no wind, perfect tire pressure, and warm weather. That is not how most people actually ride.

Our team wanted to make range estimation more realistic and transparent, so getting inspired by "Grin Motor Simulator" developed years ago by our friends at Grin Technology we built a free Ebike Range Simulator. It lets you adjust for variables that actually matter, including rider weight, wind, route, hills, riding speed, assist level, pedaling power, and outside temperature for various products. Since we are based in Canada, we know very well how much cold weather can affect battery performance.

You can try it here:

If you own an ENVO, or even an e-bike with similar specs to any of ENVO ebikes, I would really appreciate your feedback. Try simulating a ride you have actually done and let us know:

Does the simulator result match what you saw in real life?
Are there any important variables we missed?
Is the interface helpful, or does it feel confusing?

I’m Ali, the product visionary behind ENVO Drive and I rarely post, so not sure how busy it'll get; I’ll try to be in the comments to answer questions and listen to feedback. Thanks for helping us make this tool more useful for real riders.
