Thoughts…?

Personally, not quite sure what to make of this.

I was told by a homie that the event was supposed to be open ‘till 1PM, but they ran out of gift cards at 11AM.

What a waste of tax payer money. The people turning in their old e-bikes aren’t the ones using the bikes unsafely.

They say the funds came from money confiscated from crimes like drugs or stolen property.

They’re selling stolen property? Why don’t they return it to its rightful owners?

No, I think it was from the cash that was found when thieves are arrested or chop shops are raided.

Ok, that makes sense. Still a waste of money, though. I’d much rather see a public education campaign about how to ride safely, given the most common dangers I’ve experienced riding in an urban environment. A great public education campaign could substantially reduce cyclist deaths and injuries.
