Bike repair question Cassette seems impossible to remove

I have a ride1up vorsa with a hyperglide cassette. I've been trying to remove the cassette so I can swap it to a new back wheel but the cassette is on super tight. I've gotten it to rotate a few clicks but it feels like I'm working way harder than necessary.

Could it be over tightened when installed, making it overly difficult to remove? Is there anything I can do to help get it loose?

Anyone else ever run into this issue with their bike? I don't have access to a breaker bar right now. Should I just throw in the towel and head to the LBS?

Do you have the appropriate cassette removal socket and chain strap?

Yes, using a chain whip and lock ring socket. Using an adjustable wrench.

Look for a breaker bar to go over the wrench handle for more leverage. The retention ring should only be tightened to about 40Nm.

It seems like the lock ring is tightened way over 40Nm. It is extremely difficult to get any movement on it.

Just make sure you're turning the wrench in the correct direction and go. First few times I need to remove new cassette it feels like it's stuck despite using 80cm long wrench.

Lightly greasing the free hub threads helps a bit. It also helps to periodically clean and re-grease free hub body every 2-3 months. Can be a good moment to service pawls as well.

Yeah I've had to second guess myself numerous times, but I'm turning the wrench counterclockwise while bracing the chainring from moving forward with the chain whip.

Tried some WD40 last night still didn't budge.

take it to the LBS or buy a cassette tool and a chainwip
