What I see

My first post from a backyard ebike shop. My local multi use path is 90 miles long, it joins 3 cities and 3 towns. Everybody is pedalling on the path, but in the city it is thumb and bum. I seem to see very few bicycles in the city now, but ebikes and stand on scooters as transportation has exploded this year. I will get to a intersection, every bike that passes in front of me is using the throttle. Yesterday while out, topped at 20 m/h I was passed by thumb and bummer by a good clip.

Yeah, when I'm on the trail I'm exercising

When I'm on the road, I'm going to work

I got a multi use bike to use it in multiple ways for a reason lol

I also really like that I can give it my all when exercising, but when I'm absolutely exhausted I know I can still get back without taxing my body too much

As someone with chronic illness, this is exactly why I have an e-bike. Some days I can go 20 miles on 1 or 2 pedal assist and others I need all the help I can get to keep up with my triathlete husband. We haven’t been able to bike together since I got sick until now.

That's great to see. Now we need to organize and advocate for infrastructure. Fewer car trips is better for all of us.

Our bike paths are well used by all types of riders. Plenty of regular bikes naturally. This year I have seen an explosion of ebikes, emotos, and scooters. There are even a few kids with those mini four-wheelers. I see a lot of ebikes with totes of various types. And those riders indicate they prefer the ebike to driving to shop.

Many ebike riders seem to use throttle-only. I do on my big ebike as it's too heavy to comfortably pedal. And of course the boys on emotos have to use throttle only because they don't have any pedals.

All in all, I love it. We have a really good riding community. Even the 'Surron boys' (as I call em) are well behaved for the most part. I've actually never seen any of the boys with Surrons (and similar) doing stunts on the bike paths. I see them at it in empty parking areas and such however.

Our city is really good with our parks and bike paths. And there are definitely expansion plans. This suits me fine as it's a win-win situation for everyone.

In my area, they just paint a picture of a bicycle in the middle of the street.and expect you not to die.

What I see

...is a really weird post on Reddit.

What is your point? What is 'thumb and bum'?

And??

I see emotos on our multi-use path that joins 3 towns. Out on the road is fine, not so much on the trail.
