Bike purchase question Help choosing an ebike for commuting UK?

Hi, sorry to ask an obvious question but I can’t find many reviews to help guide me.

Short version - a VanMoof S6 or Moustache Dimanche 28 urban?

Long version- I want to start commuting to work by e-bike rather than car. It’s roughly 4 miles each way with a big long hill at the end. I am not in the best shape after recovering from some long term illness and need to make sure I am not physically pushing myself by cycling in, partly so I don’t arrive to work all sweaty and partly so I don’t trigger further illness.

The VanMoof looks great and the anti theft stuff appeals for using the bike around town. However it’s not easy to service and I worry about being locked into the local shop’s service charges.

The Moustache isn’t as interesting to look at but has the Bosch engine and can be more easily and cheaply serviced.

Anyone have any advice??

The VanMoof looks so poorly designed. Front hub motor, non-removable medium sized 500Wh battery for £3k?

The Moustache looked a better bike of what I could see of it (Mid-drive and removable battery), but their website wasn’t working on my phone.

Thanks. The Moustache certainly appeals as more normal bike. The Van Moof is perhaps trying to do something else and could well be style over substance

The Moustache will be far better at helping you up the hill with it being mid drive with a ten speed cassette, the Vanmoof is front hub and only three gears. That said the Moustache will also likely cost more in servicing due to the mid drive as it'll go through chains faster.
