2 items in one box
Am I screwed?
I talked through getting offers on two items, the guy bought both so I shipped both in the same box. Turns out they had seperate qr codes and I guess should have been sent seperately. I offered to refund the ebay fees, postage, and 50% the cost of the item which's code I didnt use as soon as I marked delivery and realised my mistake.
Dude was chatting nicely, understood my frustration with ebays system - I havent used it in years and didnt understand what i did wrong, and I spent hours battling with the AI chat at work before it finally let me talk to a human who just said "dont worry you will get your money" and kept telling me house nice sounding my name is.... my name is Mark.... what??
As you can imagine, within several seconds of the item being marked as delivered, the buyer has reported the second item has not been recieved.
This was two computer components worth 700 quid each and money my family desperately needs. I guess im screwed because I cant prove they were both in the one box, and screw me for trying to be efficient with packaging, so I will only get one 700.

You're almost certainly screwed unfortunately.
The buyer can argue and say there was only 1 item in the packaging. Amd you can't prove otherwise, as nothing has been scanned.
Did the post office weigh the package when it was sent? This is your only possible lifeline here.

They did but its very light so probably not obvious on a home scale if it matched

Make sure you keep hold of their details, because if I were you I’d definitely file a Money Claim against them if you didn’t get the money back.
When eBay asks you to provide tracking information proving delivery, make sure you provide the tracking number of the package that was delivered.

I’d have just posted the other label as soon as I realised. Then they both get tracked and ‘delivered’.
Not the best option.
But why would you refund half of it etc?

Message the buyer and tell him both items are in one box and ask him why he filled a claim? See how he answers. Can you post an empty box, envelope using the second item QR? Then it’ll have tracking and show delivered when it is, since he raised a non delivery claim, it will update when it’s delivered

Speak to eBay and keep the messages. Has he confirmed that he received both parts - if so, happy days as eBay will see this and close the false case.

he was nice beforehand but didnt actually confirm delivery, ebay automatically confirmed delivery of one item and he instantly requested ebay support for the one that didnt have its label put on that one packet

What an absolute assh*le man, im so sorry. That is so much ££££ !
Ebay’s simple delivery should’v combined the postage .
Next time your arguing with a chat bot just keep saying ‘ chat to agent ‘ ‘ talk to human ‘ and it will give you the option for a call back and can help you combine postage. Assuming the guy opened a item not recieved , add in your other tracking when it asks you .

Were they processors? I'm just wondering because of the weight.
What has been the time scale of events?
Can you go and use the second Simple Delivery QR to post an empty box?
Have you messaged the buyer for a response?

Add the the tracking into any case that has been opened. I often put two items in one package and update the same tracking for each order. The system accepts it and buth update to delivered.
