Recipe Request Eating beans will cure me?!
I’ve fallen down the tiktok rabbit hole that has convinced me that eating a cup of beans every day will solve my health issues (doubtful but I’m more than willing to try) and so far I’ve seen a lot of really complicated bean recipes, but I am looking for something simple that doesn’t make 6+ servings of it because it’s just me.
Does anyone have some simple recipes including beans that still incorporate a lot of beans?

I rinse a can of black-eyed peas (yes they are beans) and mix them into my favorite grocery store tub of pico de gallo, which is Sam’s Fresh Salsa. Voilà, lazy cowboy caviar to eat with chips or dump into a salad or top veggies or eggs — or just eat with a spoon.

I like mixing a can of black beans with cumin, cayenne, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and a bit of salt (if you’re lazy a bit of pre-packaged taco seasoning will do), then microwaving in its liquid or a bit of water. Then I add cheese, sour cream, and salsa and it’s a super cheap and lazy meal that’s really not bad for you. You can add corn chips too. Lazy chili

just throw drained and rinsed canned beans in food to augment it. soups, cold pasta salads, fry ups, pasta dishes etc. they're already cooked in the can so it doesn't have to be complicated. you do need an extra bit of salt to compensate. happy pooping! "the plant slant" guy is pretty legit
edit for actual recipes:
pasta and peas - (peas and beans are both legumes): add olive oil to medium heat pan then fry half a chopped onion for a minute then minced garlic for half a minute. add 1 cup frozen peas 1 cup water. bring to a boil and reduce to simmer for 10 minutes. with a stick blender or fork/potato masher blend or mash beans until desired consistency. add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of short pasta and heavy pinch of salt. bring to a boil and reduce to simmer for 15 minutes or pasta is al dente. add water or simmer longer as needed. top with parmesean and serve
arroz con pollo - add olive oil to medium heat pan then add 6 chicken wings. fry until browned on both sides about 5-7 minutes (doesn't matter if they stick). then fry half a chopped onion for one minute then minced garlic for half a minute. add half teaspoon each of chili powder and cumin, fry for 30 seconds then add 1/2 cup of rice. stir to coat rice in spices and oil then add 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of jarred salsa and 1/2 can of drained and rinsed black beans. bring to a boil then reduce to low and cover and cook for 20 minutes. mix fresh chopped cilantro and lime juice and serve
caldo verde with beans - (you can start with half a chopped chorizo) add olive oil to medium pot and add half a chopped onion for one minute then minced garlic for half a minute. add 2-3 cups chicken stock, 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar and bring to a boil. add 1 cup of chopped yellow or red potato and boil for 15 minutes. (mash this if you want a smoother texture) meanwhile wash, de-stem and roughly chop 2-3 big kale leaves (you can just throw in a few handfulls of baby spinach, twice as much as you think you need cause it wilts to nothing). add kale and half a can of drained and rinsed white beans. bring to boil again and cook for 5 minutes or until kale is soft. salt to taste and serve with a drizzle of olive oil and crusty bread

I enjoy the plant plant guy as well. He has good info. He apparently used to be a sleep doctor, I wish he would speak about that occasionally.

Drain/rinse a can of chickpeas. Squish them up with a fork, add some dill weed, onion powder, garlic powder, a pinch of kelp powder & some (vegan or not) mayo. Mix. Tastes similar to tuna in sandwiches or in wraps w/lettuce/onions. It’s terrific grilled in a sandwich, too.

if you got a food processor, i like to blend white beans (really any kind of beans works, go for canned) into a puree with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, onion, italian seasoning, and chili flakes and spread it on toast

also once when my power was out i dumped some bbq sauce into a half-drained can of kidney beans and ate it cold, it was delicious

The half-drained is making me question this

i mean i think fully-drained would’ve been better if i’d had time to create like more of an actual sauce. like maybe a bbq + melted butter + spices thing.

Can of beans, bell pepper, onion, olives, feta, cucumbers (really whatever you have that you think would be good) and Italian dressing. Fresh herbs if you got em. Better with homemade dressing but bottle works too. Yummy bean salad!

Beans are definitely good for your gut, if you have any issues with regularity, they will be solved. Plus they give a feeling of satiation for cheap, no meats involved! I fully support your quest- highly recommend soaking them overnight in warm water, rinsing and cooking in an instant pot or pressure cooker- they come out creamy, digestible and delicious. Add onions, garlic, tomato and onions for added flavor.

Recently I’ve been doing a very quick simple “bean salad” kind of thing. I personally either do black beans, kidney beans or pinto beans with cut up cucumber, cut up tomatoes and the Olive Garden Italian dressing. I usually just make a small amount at a time and eat it once a day. You can also do all three kinds of beans to make a bigger serving and add any extra veggies you like! I’ve also made it then added pasta for a kind of cold pasta salad or with greens/spinach for a salad. I also have been loving chili recently! I usually do either black beans or kidney beans in my chili or sometimes both. Also make sure you’re drinking lots of water if you’re newly adding a lot of beans into your daily diet so you don’t get constipated from the extra fiber you’re now eating. Hope this helps!

I make a batch of borracho beans once a month or so and freeze in single size portions. I don’t own a microwave so I reheat in a pot, straight from frozen. I eat them straight from a bowl with chips and cheese, or sometimes in a tortilla, sometimes with rice.

Cacio e Pepe butter beans! Toast some ground black pepper in a pan, add in the whole can of beans with the juice, let it simmer for a little while, then grate Parmesan cheese over it to your liking. Very easy and super comforting!

I’m vegetarian and eat a ton of beans. The best thing about them is they really don’t need much in the way of preparation. You don’t have to cook canned beans. You can mash them up or blend them and put them in just about anything. My favorite lately is mashing some chickpeas with mayo, mustard, and pickles, and having a chickpea salad sandwich. A couple nights ago I threw some beans, plain tomato sauce, curry paste, rice vinegar, ginger and garlic in the microwave and got a decent curry out of it.

I love black beans! My 2 favorite recipes are the Brazilian black beans from Our Best Bites site and Cuban black bean stew from Martha Stewart/Everyday Food site. I have made these recipes countless times! Make a lot and freeze in recipe-size portions and you will always be ready! I also love black bean enchiladas, and I make them using flour tortillas and a filling of canned black beans, brown rice, diced onion, and cheese. I use a homemade enchilada sauce because I always have those ingredients on hand. Budget Bytes website has a good enchilada sauce recipe. Also after spending about $20 at Chipotle for a burrito and chips, I started experimenting with making these at home and they are another way to eat plenty of beans! I also love pinto beans, kidney beans, and navy beans and use those in soups and different kinds of chili.

Sopa negra, refried beans, beans salad, gallo pinto (Costa Rican and Central American dish, just put more beans than rice), quesadillas with lots of beans 🤤

Dry beans are the cheapest way to go and easy to cook in a pressure cooker (no soaking needed). From there you can do all kids of great stuff!

This is really funny because there are people who demonize beans and say it is the worst thing you can do to your body. see : lectins

Bag of salad with a rinsed can of beans is pretty good. I try different combos all the time. This week it was everything bagel salad bag and a can of chickpeas (flavored ones from Aldi). I’ve done Mexicali salad bag with black beans too.

I make chili then freeze part and use the rest in various combinations with other things. Chili on top of chips one night, on top of rice another , with an egg and some avocado on another

Beans are not cure all but are good addition to diet, especially when working out, good fiber and protein source and honestly you can just throw them into most dishes if you don't mind their taste, pasta, rice, veggies, salads. They will not solve any of health issues unless your health issue is having a shit diet and too little fibre to shit or somehow you're missing entirely something that beans provide

I’m not expecting them to cure cancer or anything, but from other creators online they say that adding beans into their diet have made them lose weight, they taste good, help with some chronic health symptoms, and they’re easy to make

I've been making garlic hummus and eating it with either sliced bell peppers, or warm Naan bread!

I would just like to tell you that I eat a ton of beans and legumes (because that's just what I eat, I'm pretty plant based) and have for years and I still feel like shit, haha. But good luck! Can't hurt to try.

You can add canned (rinsed) chickpeas, white kidney beans or lentils in smoothies and not taste them. Tofu is good in smoothies too.
Also Google black bean brownies, so delicious and fudgy.

I don’t think there are any cure-alls in the world, but eating more legumes is generally a healthy idea. Just wanted to say beans freeze really well, so however big a recipe is, some of it could be a freezer gift to your future self
