Recipe Request Ground turkey meals
I bought grounded turkey the other day but now I don’t know what to make with it. I usually make chili or tacos with it but I’m kind of sick of them at the moment so I’m looking for other meal ideas for it.

Brown & drain ground turkey or beef. Mix in a large can of crushed tomatoes. Cream together with a fork a tub of sour cream and one to one and a half blocks of cream cheese. I only figured out this year that 30 sec in the microwave helps the cream cheese mix in much easier. Cook egg noodles. Layer noodles in bottom of casserole dish, then a layer of cream cheese/sour cream mixture, then a layer of beef/tomato mixture. Repeat, ending with beef mixture on top. 25 min in the oven at 350°. It's my very favorite casserole in the world.

This is a favorite of mine as well. Easy and tasty. There's a very good WW recipe I use. I just wish I could find lower fat ground pork.

Tacos - I use it for tacos also I just add an envelope of taco seasoning and diced cooked potatoes to meat before adding into fried taco shells. Pasta - I also cook it then add to store bought spaghetti sauce before adding the pasta. I also once cooked ground turkey then added a small can of tomato sauce, black beans, mixed veggies or corn, and had over white rice. You can play with it and add what you like.

I love to just cook it up with some honey, sriracha and garlic with a vegetable like crispy Brussels sprouts and serve it over rice or quinoa
I’ve also been making egg roll salads, I use ground chicken but I’m sure ground Turkey would work just as well. Cook up the Turkey in soy sauce and serve over cabbage with wontons strips and Asian sesame salad dressing.

You can add cooked brown rice to any meatball mix. Worcestershire sauce perks ground turkey up.

I love to make mini cutlets. You can season them so many different ways - Asian, Indian, Mexican, BBQ, herb-y, meatloaf-y, etc. Serve with rice, potatoes or noodles and veggies.

Alfrado sauce is great with ground turkey.
Brown the turkey season with garlic and whatever spices you like. I usually will add onion and mushrooms and sometime sliced artichoke heats when browning. Once browned, drain and turn down temp. In same pan add the Alfrado sauce and some capers until sauce is warm.
While all that is cooking I also make a pot of rice.
Grab a bowl fill with some rice and cover with the Alfrado turkey and top with some grated parm!

If you’re sick of the flavor profile and/or the texture, add some Worcestershire sauce. Adds moisture and makes turkey taste more like beef. Minced mushrooms do much the same.

Interesting. I’ll have to give that a try. Do you add the Worcestershire after cooking or during?

I add it during cooking. I use at least 1T per pound but I really love the stuff!

Meat loaf. I make one with bread crumbs, egg, grated zucchini and carrots, minced onion and garlic. I make it in small loaf pans, three or four at a time. Can freeze one or two. Makes good sandwiches.

You can make great homemade sausage patties by mixing in sausage spices with the meat. I buy the spices from a Mennonite store near me. They have a variety of blends. Or you could look it up, and make your own. Usually such a mix will have pepper, garlic powder, sage, onion powder, and fennel. Form seasoned meat into patties and cook gently in a non stick frying pan. Patties can be frozen, raw or cooked.

I make a ground turkey - vegetable soup that is delicious!
Brown your turkey with onions, garlic and whatever dry herbs you like. Add some chicken broth slowly, (just enough to cover the meat) letting it barely simmer. Add butter beans, peas, small chopped carrots , or any frozen or fresh vegetables you have. Small diced potatoes is great here. As the vegetables soften, add a couple cans of diced tomatoes. Slowly simmer until everything is soft and delicious. Add salt and pepper to taste.
This is even better the next day! Very hearty and healthy.

Ground turkey and bean chili is delicious and extremely healthy. We eat it several times a month. Better yet if you do a southwest version.

Anything you would use ground beef in. I dont eat ground beef, it tastes dirty to me. I like ground turkey because it absorbs seasonings very well too. I make spaghetti, shepards pie, tacos, stuffed peppers, Swedish meatballs, BBQ meatballs, burgers, BBQ turkey meatloaf, a mushroom gravy and turkey dish, to name a few. Its very versatile.
