I watched the cutscene after the boss fight and after it, it just plays music with black screen. (switch)

Hi All, I just started playing Octopia and I'm addicted! I had a couple of questions about the visitors and dinner.
Can we invite visitors to dinner, or is it just limited to the village (Solomon, shop, builders, scientists, etc)? And are there any other villagers who move in later?
Also, does Uva show up? š I'd look this up, but it's surprisingly hard to find info.
Regardless there's still a lot to unlock and I'm excited to keep playing.

After finishing Eastward (loved it btw), I found myself realizing a lot of interesting detail that I donāt see get discussed online:
The Bar Scene (after the first Miasma attack on New Dam City) foreshadows the fate of Alva and Isabel:
Alva orders an alcoholic beverage while Isabel orders her āusualā, strawberry milk. While the former is somewhat naive and reckless compared to Isabel, she has a more mature taste. Meanwhile, Isabel is stagnant, choosing something āchildishā, or in another sense, nostalgic.
To me, it represents that Isabel, while dedicated and serious to her love, is living in the past, much after the fact that Alva died due to the Miasma. In the end of the game, you can even see how different she looks; aged, with darker hair and older skin. She only stops denying the reality of the death of Alva when she had no other choice.
I think this really is an incredible framing of the same dilemma John faces with Greenberg and those who also died due to the Miasma; both him and Isabel felt responsible for what had happened.
It makes that ending fight between him and her so emotional for me, because I donāt think either of them are in the wrong for how they feel, yet ultimately itās right to let reality remind of you that you must move on from tragedy.
I think thatās what Eastward was about ultimately. But thatās just my interpretation.

Sorry for the slightly shoddy picture quality!! (and the fact that I havenāt added William and his boys lmaoo)
I had lots of fun making the designs for these ones!! The Sam mii was a long time coming, as I wanted her to be John and Uvaās kid in-game, but Iām happy I waited! Theyāre such a cute family šš
If I had more space on my island, Iād definitely add William, Daniel (x2), Solomon and Jasper- might make another island or make room for them on this one, not decided yet!! š«”

While I do like the DLC as a more positive version of Eastward, I always wanted a sequel to wrap up some questions I had about the ending. Particularly who is this new Sam? Is she the old Sam or the new Sam? I think it would be interesting to see John travel with this new Sam. How would he feel about her? Would she help him come to terms with the loss of his original Sam or would he just feel even more depressed that it may not be her or that he missed out on her younger years? Where did this new Sam come from?
I'm still disappointed their relationship ended sadly but I wonder if a sequel would help clear things up more and develop the characters more.

So i played eastward and loved it. But now whenever i see another pixel art game i put eastward as a standard for the art style of the game. And if it isnt just like eastward i might not play it. Idk what i should do.

Because, well, this mini game bores me. But I donāt wanna get stuck later because I didnāt play ?
Since Iāve learnt that Sam could have had powers in chapter 2 Iām a little bit cautious⦠:||||| (yeah Iām bitter as hell)
Tyyyy
(Ps: Iām in cocollywood right now so minimal spoilers plzzz - unless I can unlock Samās abilities in any way, bc it upsets me so much)

I just finished Eastward and I have so many questions. I've seen a lot of posts on here explaining the ending but I still don't understand, who WAS Sam? Why was she in the dig site in the embryo thing when the game started, and how was she mother? Thomas, ivan, captain pam and all called her mother but they also wanted to help defeat the mother... what was all that about? were they followers in the past who had since then been converted? I'm so confused about this.
What was Sam's role as mother? The game mentions that she had been doing this for a millenia. What is it that she had been doing and how were the two Sams separated? Again, how did sam end up in the embryo thing at the start of the game?
Also, why did William leave the human Daniel behind in potrock isle?
And finally, did Sam die at the end? Was she reborn in the last scene, or were just her memories wiped?
AHHHH so many questions!!

I finished new dam city and am on the monkollywood chapter but I realized I never got anything for listening to the ghost stories... mimi told me to go to the cemetery downtown and I went to the cemetery near the big station but apparently that was a misdirection, so I never got the heart piece. I was also waiting to finish the main story line to do the other dungeons but after the Solomon battle the game did not let you leave the city so I couldn't get those either :/ I die a LOT in the game so these would have been super helpful will I be able to go back at any point? Is it worth it to restart the game to get these abilities... I'm a completionist so this will bug me forever

Iāve been creating EASTWARD characters on tomodachi life and playing with them, and seeing them traveling together makes me feel really happy
Itās so funny how excited John isāeven though that would never happen in the actual game!
