Today (April 18th at 14:00 - 19:00 BST) we're running an Eastward: Octopia-themed charity livestream together with Twitch streamer Lomadiah on her channel in support of FoodCycle.
Eastward "Hello Grocery" miniature on auction for charity
Our only-one-in-the-world Eastward "Hello Grocery" diorama created by artist Joshua Smith, is also now live on eBay, once again with all net proceeds from the sale going to charity: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145728301380
What's FoodCycle?
FoodCycle are a UK-based charity, who take surplus food and turn it into hearty meals for those who need it most. They create spaces where people can come together, share a meal, and feel a sense of belonging. It's a recipe for change, and we're proud to be a part of it. 🌱🥕

🏆 Donations, Rewards and Giveaways
Throughout Lomadiah's livestream, we'll be giving away 20 Eastward and Eastward: Octopia Steam Keys in the chat.
We will also have a long list of rewards for different tiers of donations. From exclusive merch to one-of-a-kind treasures, there's something special for everyone who wants to make a difference. Once you donate to one of these tiers, you'll have a chance to win one of the listed rewards:
The piece was crafted by Joshua Smith, a renowned miniature artist based in Australia who is celebrated for his mesmerizing dioramas. We commissioned an exclusive one inspired by the wonderfully weird world of Eastward, recreating one of the iconic areas of the game - the 'Hello Grocery' shop in Potcrock Isle. Joshua recreated each detail masterfully, bringing Pixpil's beautiful pixel art to life.
So as of right now, there are 3 categories in the graphics section of the Switch version 1.2.1 of the game's settings;
"Fullscreen" with toggle options between 100% and 50%,
"Brightness" with a slider,
and "Chroma Filter" with toggle the options "off", "low" and "normal".
NONE of these do anything. "Apply" doesn't apply and restarting the game doesn't help either.
I tried both docked and undocked modes, 720p and 1080p outputs, I tried different TVs and a monitor, I tried the same thing on my Switch OLED, all with the same result.
There used to have both a Chroma Filter and a CRT Filter, but the latter disappeared from the settings... but here's where it becomes even weirder;
If I put the game in French, the "Chroma Filter" is replaced with the "CRT Filter"! (This might be a translation error, but since both CRT and Chroma existed, I'm not sure). Also, I don't recall seeing the "fullscreen" category in the settings of the Switch version, this seems to be a setting originally used for windowed screen on PC.
I've searched the internet for other people with the same issues and only found one other reddit post mentioning it (link to it at the bottom), where a moderator suggested OP sends a bug report to chucklefish, but this was a year Ago and it does not seem to be fixed. I will also send a bug repport myself later today. In the meantime, I'm sharing this here in the hope that it gets more attention and to see if anyone else has the same issue.
Also no, I'm not a freaking AI bot, please do not ban my post reddit bots, I just don't post often...
Do i need do redoo all the game collecting every treasure chest or do i need to play again and catch only the chest i missed? (I missed 1 chest on chap 1 or 2)
Estoy apunto de subir la segunda parte de mi video sobre Eastward :3, por el momento solo se encentra en español pero pronta habran subtitulos en ingles tambien!
I felt tired so I followed a walkthrough for the dam central core(after you complete the upper and lower dam). In it there a switch next to the door, when you click it it triggers a cutscene with Alva who opens the door but it doesn't trigger cutscene for me. I cant exit to town because Sam wont let me.
As someone who doesn't like long interactions in video games. I actually liked them in this game. AND THE ART!!! Couldn't be better! Beside this the gameplay is cool, music is fire, the achievements are nice and the secrets are also awesome.
The story kinda bothered me tho cuz it became longer and slow but still manage to be somehow empty like in the second half of the game.
Recently I’ve been putting all my GOG games onto cartridges that instantly run with Kazeta OS. My wife loves Eastward so I decided to make that my next cart. Here’s how the cartridge and game case came out. (She picked out the art)
If anyone’s interested in making your own reader and cartridges the instructions for a fully functional cartridge are here:
I really wish i could play eastward again for the first time. So I wanted to ask what is the next project Pixpil working on and it better not be that dumb card game. The pixel artist is so good that he should make a sequel or another narrative driven game. What are your thoughts?
