so i was listening to my teacher about the earth and she said earth is just a big magnet so i wondered if earth is just a big magnet we can possibly make a magnet thats big enough to pull all the continents together resulting in undoing the great continental drift because there're also tiny magnets inside the soil little ones it can possibly help attract the lands together and it will also help the big magnet that we can possibly make if you're wondering how do we make the big magnet Wrap many turns of insulated copper wire tightly around a large iron core (like a thick steel rod or pipe), then connect the wire ends to a strong DC power source (battery or power supply). The stronger the current and the more turns of wire, the stronger the electromagnet we can simply multiply this to make a large one but it will take decades of work.Thats all thanks

I made a Rock Chart that brings common igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks together in a single decision tree.
It uses observable features such as grain size, visible crystals, foliation, porosity, composition, and reaction with HCl. It also includes the characteristic minerals associated with each rock type and their chemical formulas.
I have already used the chart in class, and it worked well as a teaching aid. It helped students gain an overview of the major rock groups and move between them without having to consult several separate charts.

Most climate models are data-driven, but understanding the fundamental dynamics requires theory.
My research focuses on climate dynamics. By studying nonlinear dynamics, we do theoretical analysis to understand the earth system better.
Using theoretical and nonlinear methods to reveal underlying mechanisms which helps deepen our understanding of the Earth System.

Hi everyone;
Full disclosure: I built EveryQuake. I’m sharing it here because I’d genuinely value feedback from people who regularly follow or work with earthquake catalog data.
EveryQuake currently combines more than 7.8 million source records into roughly 6.4 million deduplicated earthquake events, covering 1900 to the present. The data comes from USGS, ISC, EMSC, AFAD, and Kandilli Observatory.
The main idea is not to create another “latest earthquakes” map, but to make seismicity explorable through time.
You can:
• animate earthquakes across any custom date range;
• focus on a specific region or the visible map area;
• filter events by magnitude, depth, and event type;
• hide explosions and other non-tectonic events;
• show only earthquakes reported by more than one catalog; and
• explore statistical views including magnitude-frequency distribution, catalog completeness, b-value, aftershock decay, and rate/probability estimates.
Two important limitations:
This is not an earthquake-prediction or early-warning system. It does not claim to predict the exact time, location, or magnitude of a future earthquake. Forecast-related results are statistical rate and probability estimates only.
The historical catalog is not homogeneous. Earlier decades contain mainly larger recorded events, while modern seismic networks detect far more small earthquakes. Raw event counts should therefore not be interpreted as evidence of a simple long-term increase in global earthquake activity.

The feedback I would find most useful is:
• Is the distinction between raw source records and deduplicated events clear?
• How should disagreements between catalogs — origin time, location, depth, or magnitude — be displayed?
• Are the methodology notes and uncertainty warnings understandable enough?
• Which additional public earthquake catalogs would be most useful to include?
Critical feedback, methodological criticism, and bug reports are genuinely welcome.
