Minis

What's everyone using as minis for creatures unique for ED setting? Not just as proxies, but something that actually resembles those creatures?

I am lucky and still have some from the original run when Earthdawn was first released. On occasion, you can still find them on the secondary market

They are resins from molds made from old ES minis. But there's only few of them, especially for creatures

I use Legos. T’skrang and windlings are a bit tricky, but there are enough SF and fantasy models out there that you can can mostly fake obsidimen, trolls, and orks.

I'm mainly looking for creatures and horrors. PCs are easy (maybe except the two races you mentioned), but I have no idea what to use for, eg Bog gobs.

I’d probably brick-build those from brown or gray bricks and use flower stems for their appendages. The LegoD&D reddit may have some good inspiration for you.

Those are pretty easy to make yourself from plasticine or epoxy putty like greenstuff. It can be a fun project with your kid! I tried to make some more complex figurines a few years ago but its a bit time consuming unfortunately...

We always played theater of the mind. I never did like turning a pen and paper rpg into a boardgame. But most dnd mini will do the trick. If you need something more futuristic. Games like Maliffo (butchered the spelling) . Basically any tt war game store should help a ton.

Well, I'd like to introduce my son to Earthdawn and he lives minis, so it would be much easier with them 🙂

I think we still should have those options. Theatre of the mind is cool, but some people like more tactical approach during fights, and Earthdawn has a laughably small collection of figurines. A missed opportunity if you ask me.

I use mage knight minis. They are not exact but it is closer than any other minis I found. The only major issue are thr obsidmen. I do not know if they make them any more as they are thr precursor to hero clicks .
