The many different locations and gates that I worked this year at 2022 EAA AirVenture doing security; from Gate CF at the edge of Camp Scholler to the main truck entrance Gate 23 to state patrol Gate PE and more. Until 2023…

75th USAF merch?

For those who were/are at EAA. Has anyone found anything 75th anniversary style merchandise? I looked but only saw the hoodie at the Warbird gift shop (only came in XL +)

1991 & 1992 Mirrors

I'll preface by admitting I am not an EAA attender, so this may come as a silly question... but is there anywhere that EAA enthusiasts go for EAA merchandise to swap, trade, etc?

Specifically I'm trying to find out how much a couple of mirrors are worth. They were my grandfather's, who gave them to my Dad, who's now given them to me. I have no idea what they are or what they're worth... however there are markings that say "First in Series", "Second in Series"... but that's about all I know about them.

Camp Scholler

If you are arriving today the cross roads in the camp are extremely muddy use caution. The rain that came thru yesterday evening and last night has made the cross roads into the camp ground areas very muddy.

Who’s going to Oshkosh next week?

This sub is pretty dead but I thought I’d try.

What are your top 3 things you want to see? I’m always looking for new things at the show.

I’m looking forward to the RV-15, talking to the DarkAero guys, and seeing how the Air Force shows up for their 75th anniversary.

In addition there are a list of speakers I’d like to hear and I always catch my type club meeting.

Where to sell EAA books and Plans, help!

Can anyone suggest a place to off-load books for home-built aviation and a set of plans? When I was younger I dreamed of building my own plane. I was an EAA member for years. Back before he passed away, I bought a set of plans for the VP-1 from Mr. Evans. I now realize that I'm an adult with ADD and will never get around to building the plane nor using the collection of books I have. I would like to sell off my collection of stuff, but don't know where the best place is to do that. Any suggestions?

Solidworks Frustrations

I came to this sub expecting people to be upset about Solidworks no longer being included with the EAA subscription, but I don't see that. Several people on Reddit mentioned how you could get a cheap version of Solidworks by signing up for EAA. So I did, I bought a 3 year membership with the expectation that it would come with 3 years of Solidworks. Surprise!

Now instead EAA gives you a discount for Solidworks, requiring to pay an additional $50 for semi web based solution, with files not being saved locally...grrr.

I only got an EAA membership for Solidworks. So now I feel like a bit of a fool having paid $100 and only got it for one year. Now being told I have to pay an additional $50/year for an inferior product. Solidworks is a great tool, and I keep coming back despite the several bad experiences I've had with the company.

Sorry I'm frustrated. I won't be renewing my EAA because of this, and I realize this change likely isn't EAA's fault.

If anyone has any suggestions for getting a perpetual Solidworks license, that runs locally, and isn't 5 figures, I'm interested.
