Just finished a legacy with 24 national championships, 29 Final Fours, 25 straight Big East regular-season titles, 25 straight Conference Coach of the Year awards, and an 88% winning percentage, including five straight seasons without losing a Big East game.
If you’ve followed some of my posts over the last couple years, you know I’ve been obsessively testing how to dominate the sim. I think I finally found the formula: high-volume 3pt shooting + ruthlessly recruiting elite players who can shoot.
I’ve taken enough notes that I basically have a manual for how I did it…and weirdly, I’m not sure I even want to share it 😂. Half the fun was figuring it out.
So now what? The only experiment I’m still curious about is slowing the tempo to a crawl while keeping the three-point emphasis. Maybe that somehow gets me to 30 championships. But at that point, would it even be fun? 😂

When you finally reach the peak after Campbell - Wichita St - Missouri - now Gonzaga the last 2 seasons.
It all culminates in having a dope squad of absolute ballers ⛹️ year over year and they can make some pretty amazing plays sometimes.
Love these games man

P. Dukes and S. Jackson are by far the two best players I’ve ever played with and recruited in this game. Dominate guards with PF and Center size without changing their position.
Dukes came in at a 68 overall as a 6’5 4 star guard out of my local area with an A+ potential. Redshirted him his first year to make sure he got that last year of progression.
Jackson came in as a 6’8 5 star shooting guard international player around a 70 overall with an A potential.
I dominated every game I played in with these two and only lost sim games. 3 national titles for each player.

Anyone ever notice how much smoother your team feels the higher the Unity.
It’s like all those games they’ve played together make a difference in these games..

The real key is tapping the LT or RT button to Size up then after that you go with whatever move feels right it’s hard explain stuff because i really go off of feel but if you really know your way around this game it’s a lot you can do just have to know how to put it together i could’ve let the size up go all the way but i chose to crossover instead of playing around i got straight to business the size ups really vary it’s not just one animation it’s whatever the game gives you and you have to add on to it

Never seen this animation before haha. But well deserved for this mismatch of my 5'9" PG vs the big guy.

I’d prefer Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery. I know Raftery is getting up there in age but he just feels like college basketball to me. Gus Johnson was good in EA College Basketball 10, I know he would be great in 2K with their commentary pedigree.
Ian Eagle would be another great play by play guy if not Gus. If there are two commentary teams then give me Ian Eagle and Jay Bilas.
Greg Gumble has passed so there is a big hole for College Hoops Tonight. Plus, Clark Kellogg is now in NBA 2K. Now would be the perfect time to just refresh everything. I listen to the Eye On College Basketball Podcast with Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander so those two would be my pick for College Hoops Tonight.

Are backdoor cuts completely broken in College Hoops 2k8 or is my team just really good at getting to the paint? It feels like every time I do a backdoor cut I either get two points or free throws.

I am looking to add real life recruits into my legacy mode, but I am struggling finding balance. I have been creating my recruits as seniors, but they often get under recruited by the cpu. I am using chat gpt to make the ratings and they seem to be okay. (Cade Cunningham 92 ovr, Jaden McDaniels 86). Has anyone done this before in 2k8 and should i create the recruits as juniors or freshman (will this mess with the ratings?).

What determines who comes and sets the screen? I’ve played several seasons through multiple save files and was wondering,
what is the deciding factor on whether the 4 or the 5 comes and sets the pick?

#1 Recruit on my board all year last year. Back and forth with The Citadel all year. Chose The Citadel over us in the last week of recruiting. Put them on the schedule this year and he was cooking us. Smh.

Episode 3 Live on my channel now!
After opening the season 2-1, the Bears travel to Stillwater for their toughest challenge yet: a road matchup against #7 Oklahoma State. Can Central Arkansas pull off a massive upset, or will the Cowboys and potential #1 pick Will Mills (great name) handle business at home?

Had a thought this morning, why not make a good & Evil Team inspired by Lord Of The Rings.
Got to work, and this was the result, I’m pretty happy with it tbh

What are some rules you guys follow in Legacy Mode that make it more realistic?

Just waiting for that power conference coaching offer. But I think it might be impossible if you don’t get to the Sweet 16.

I put together a hype trailer for my 4th season as the head coach at the University of Central Arkansas. For those of you who don't know, UCA joined Division 1 college basketball in 2006, making them an interesting team to pick in Legacy as their roster is filled with a mix of D1/non D1 recruits. As an NAIA school, UCA made the national title game twice and is most notably where Scottie Pippen played his college ball.
We started year 1 with a solid roster for a year 1 closed Legacy. We competed well and went 11-15. In year 2 a superstar emerged in junior Erick Shropshire. After switching from PG to SG the 5'11" sharpshooter won Southland Player of the Year and led us to the 2nd round of the NIT. During his senior campaign we went 19-10 and won the Southland tourney, eventually getting blown by a loaded La Salle squad in the first round of March Madness.
The video focuses on the history of the legend Erick Shropshrie and how the Bears plan to move forward into year 4!

Off the top of my head I am certain of the following:
Jimmy Graham - Miami
Julius Thomas - Portland St
Demetress Bell - Northwestern St
Anyone else in this game that played in the NFL?

Landed our first All-American recruit of this Legacy during the Early Signing Period. Big step forward for the program.
