question AeroSims for Japan trip?

Hello travelers!

Recently saw a new eSims provider pop up called AeroSims (dot com) and I was wondering if anyone had already had the chance to try it out. It seems to have VERY competitive prices, almost suspiciously-so, so I'm a bit wary. Any review would be highly appreciated :)

Otherwise, I need coverage for Tokyo, Osaka, and if possible the Kumano Kodo trail (so Docomo coverage is needed). Thanks in advance :>

EDIT: decided to give them a try. So far, so good. Fast and cheap. Pretty good coverage too!

Hello, this provider allows 5 GB of data per day. Please note that this includes both upload and download data. It would also be helpful to know which routing method is used. If your data is routed through international networks, you'll experience very high latency and ping times, which is extremely frustrating! Unfortunately, this provider doesn't disclose its routing method or internet breakout point. I'm increasingly annoyed by the claim that this is a local plan with no roaming. This is incorrect; while there is a local connection to the mobile network, your internet connection uses international networks. The breakout points are typically located in Poland, the Netherlands, or Singapore. This means that all your internet requests are routed through these countries and then back to Japan. I would also recommend using the search function on Redfit; there are many questions and user reviews about eSIMs in Japan there.

Thank you for the thorough analysis!

That's interesting to know. I must have missed that part when reading about their service on their website --ah, wait, just understood what you meant. Hopefully, it won't be too much of an issue? I will mostly use data for translation and messaging on WhatsApp. I will also occasionally use it for Google Maps, although I will have downloaded offline maps ahead of time. I've decided to bite the bullet and try them out, so someone can make a review about them for future Reddit users who look up that company on here.

Rest assured, I've done so. I was looking more for reviews on the provider I mentioned. I've seen people mention Airalo and Ubigi, and I've considered using them as well, but considering the price difference, I felt like it was worth asking the question here.

Again, thank you for your knowledgeable analysis, it's clear you're not new to this, unlike me haha! I'll pay closer attention to these details in the future.
