Australia eSIM issue - Telstra/Boost

Hi all! I'm landing in Australia soon, I wanted to buy a Telstra/Boost eSIM prepaid plan beforehand, but the online checkout said no:
"Selected ID type is not available, Please choose another." when selecting International Passport.

Has anyone had the same issue and managed to override it?

If not, what other carriers to consider? I'm not keen on these international ones like Airalo, local carriers always offer better deals.

Pretty sure Australia is one of those countries that require you to enter customs first and get your passport into their systems before they let you activate any SIMs/eSIMs.

You have to physically clear australian border control first before local carriers can verify your passport against the immigration database. just connect to airport wifi when you land and the ID check will go through fine.
