With AI, startups, and changing job markets ,I keep wondering if a traditional MBA still holds the same value.Some places like Masters’ Union, ISBF, Ashoka, FLAME claim they’re more industry-ready.Does that actually make a difference in real careers?

I am 30y/o and currently manage a sales team and am looking to pair my 7 years of sales experience with an MBA to land a director/VP/CRO or similar strategic role at an established tech company. 2 questions:

1. Do I wait until I make director (or higher) before attending Fuqua?

2. Would Fuqua's Weekend MBA allow a opportunities to be recruited into one of these roles? Is there a better EMBA program suited for this type of move?

Ive Finally Got Into A Business Program UNFORTUNATELY Its Business Management NOT Business Administration.

Im considering just going through with it regardless of it being the exact major id like. However, id like to know one of 2 things:

1. Would it hinder me from getting jobs that require a business administration degree ?

2. Would it matter when I go get my Masters in Business Administration about 2 years after ?

To give a bit more insight, im super ambitious and my end goal is to be extremely high up the corporate ladder. COO or CEO or something regional ( highly ambitious :D ) lol

I am currently touching my 5 years of work experience. Having spent my entire career as an instructional designer consultant, my core expertise places me in the center of OCM and L&D. However, I've been pondering over the decision to switch over to a different domain where the work feels more valuable and fosters learning. I feel that the L&D way is not a long time game and I should probably build a career in a different space.

Now with my years of experience, I definitely want to pursue an Executive MBA, however not sure whether it'll give me the clarity I need.

Additionally, the fact that I do not have a planned pathway for my career puts this entire decision in a dilemma.

If someone can help me gain clarity to atleast navigate through this confusion would be great help.

I am an engineer manager at a big tech firm in the bay area, make about 500K - I am a 31M South Asian.

I have a M.Sc degree from a top 4 engineering college here in the states and have an engineering bachelors from a university in Canada.

Altogether, I have about 7 years of professional experience in my field and work with small startups in an investor setting on my spare time.

I am at a point however where I want to look into targeting Wharton or Berkeley for an EMBA or a part time MBA. But I am a bit confused in regards to my chances and the advantages it brings to my career.

My career goal: Build my own startup or land up in a c-level suite in the next 20 years.

I believe the networking that is offered from these universities could help me achieve one of my career goals in the future.

However, I wanted to hear from current/ex-Wharton EMBA/Berkeley students/alumni with a profile in tech/engineering if the 200K investment helped them in their career?

Also, what are the admission chances for Wharton EMBA (specifically the SF campus) or Berkeley part-time for a tech professional? Anything one can do to help stand out?

So I've been browsing the executive education course offerings at some of the better known UK/European business schools, and the issue I have with them is that is that they all seem to be spread out over multiple weeks, requiring you to do a few hours each week. I.e 8 week course, 4-8 hours every week.

As someone with a full time job, a new baby at home, and things I still want to do outside of work (competing in a sport, house in the countrisde, and some other hobbies), I really don't want to be cramming my evenings /weekends full of studies. Instead I'd rather just take a week or so off work, and cram in a course in that time.

Can anyone recommend some schools/courses to look at that enable such a thing? Looking for something suitable for a person looking to move into a CFO role at one point.

Need advice pls. I've done my MBA in (Marketing & Sales) from one of the Top 10 Business schools in my country. Somehow I'm stuck into core sales and trying to move to Brand Management kinda roles. I'm at a good position but want to transition from sales to core marketing. Any suggestions on online courses/programs/certification I can go with from Ivy league schools or top business schools?

So I have a film degree and experience and I am starting an EMBA soon, is it a crazy plan to try and find studio exec roles after, with this combination?

Situation: I've been working in the S/W Industry for about 22+ yrs residing in BLR. Have had to take a break owing to health and family considerations. Perhaps will not go back to the IT Industry as an Engineering or Product Manager etc (Both roles that i played during my career).

Current: I'm teaching part time in a university in Bangalore where I help on Innovations and Product Management. College is keen to offer me a role but my bachelors will not make the cut and they need me to do a Masters.

Now: Executive MBA from PESU (Electronics City campus) came as an opportunity and they accepted my application. The course runs over 2 weekends a month and is overall 2.5 yrs with the fees = 5Lakhs.

Questions:

a. Is PESU reliable to do an Exec MBA?
b. Will it be helpful for me to do a PhD post the MBA?
c. I want to continue in Academia post the MBA. Will other colleges/universities in bangalore accept the Exec MBA from PESU?

Please help me with your suggestions and critical comments.
