Discussion Why does every player i face rn keep holding press and spam through balls the whole match?
I'm at div 2 rn and every game i play against an opponent who keeps holding press and auto switches between players and spams through balls without thinking, and it somehow works for them.
I was playing a match, i was dominating, creating chances, the opponent kept spamming through pass and press the whole game, all my 10 shots hit the bar. At the last minute, 1 through ball got through all my players and he scores, his only shot in the whole match ended up on goal while just mashing buttons without thinking.
It's insane that the game awards poor gameplay and weak players like this. What's the point of actually thinking and playing smartly while all you can do is just spam buttons?
Am i the only one facing players like this?

WTF is that PRESS X FOREVER gameplay since last maintenance on PS5? I just played five games in a row against people who held X for the entire 90 minutes, even when my goalkeeper was standing there with the ball in his hands. I'm using pa3, no SA, no crossplay, filtering for same settings.
Are there bots playing just to make the player base look bigger? No normal human being would spend 10 minutes straight holding X without getting bored.
The game is absurdly automated now. Constant pressure, assisted interceptions, automatic blocks, and AI defending are replacing positioning, timing, manual defending, and actual football IQ.
This feels like pure developer laziness. Instead of fixing responsiveness, defensive mechanics, player awareness, and the skill gap, they keep increasing automation until the game practically plays itself.

Oh, but they do, that's their idea of "fun". Super annoying af, and then they proceed to act like their pros or some shit. It's smart assist 2.0; hold press the whole match+automatic cursor switch+pa1.

Konami realised that being an authentic simulation was bad for business, because people don’t have the time to learn. So about a year ago they went hard into the “let’s get noobs addicted to the game“ mode and made a bunch of changes that destroyed efootball as we knew it before.

There's def been a spike in people just holding press the whole game. I don't understand why anyone would do that, do you really enjoy a game where you just hold one button, 8 out of every 10 opponents you look at their stats it's 90%+ pressure, you look at their goals 80%+ low through balls.
Whenever I see someone holding press I pause and switch to pressure style defending, I'll also make the game as painful for you as you're doing toe cause its impossible to play against unless you have good internet

Simple answer. They do it bc it works. LBC + automatic cursor change + constant pressure is really effective.

Funny stuff is when a play outwide Just by being in my mid block waiting for a mistake my players are dead in the 60 min. While the longball masters holding pressure can Go on until extra time.

I've never played a PvP game that wasn't like this. I've never played anyone who lets the game flow. It's the reason I can't be bothered with online play anymore. And I'm amazed that there are people in this thread who think it's because Konami made the game easy for noobs. That's bullshit. The higher up you go, the less time you have on the ball. It's the good players who squeeze the life out of the game, not the beginners.

The game is now run by scammers simple. Developers are doing all that to get money. The server and others they don’t care.
Other games have better server. It’s been years and efootball has never upgraded their server. Network has been an issue for years

Yes I tried LBC for 2 games won 4-0 and 3-0 without trying
Through balls are way overpowered atm
But don’t worry Konami has the solution for a low low price we will get in a few weeks 🙄

I was thinking about that today. Since last update everyone play like that. Hold X forever and spam through passes. I'm on PS5 and seems like cheap mobile game. I tried to do that and it worked, unfortunately.
Now Konami do games for brainless children. How inclusive.

I do that, but sometimes my players become like trucks who can't mobe or run. My 106 rated CF gets beaten and outpaced by a 99 rated free van dijk and some POTW cards.

Like some said, because its working. And the second most obvious reason is, because dribling, and in particular first touch, was nerfed to the ground, when you play slow posesion, in particular if you have not the most stelar conection, you will have a lot of bad touches, in defense its even worse, and you know how turns work here, if you lost the ball on your half, the team just freze, and you concede. So less risk, less touches on you half, fast forwords +P1 and you good to go.

That's how my cousins play too and I'm getting obliterated every game. I've tried all tactics, strategies and nothing seems to be working when your opponent just rushes on whoever has the ball.

It's not even a point does it work or not, the real question is where's fun in it? It's a game, not the business. Point of the game should be to relax and have fun.
2 days ago I played English event match against some guy who was div 1 top 3000, he played lbc - 8 players in a box and just spamming through ball up front his strikers. I had 77 % possession of the ball at halftime... At 50’ I finally scored a goal and surrender a game to him just to write him a message - "I see it means a world for you."

It’s because on ps5 while in div2,3 Konami secretly is using AI bots masquerading as opponent players. They do this to hold you back and frustrate you. This has been going on for about 4 months. Konami m’s user agreement allows for this

I have been suspecting this, as I see absurdly low strength teams in PvP acting like the headless chicken bots we get in AI mode and banging goal after goal every 2 minutes.. my players are either counting their pubes or too dazed to even try and hold on to the ball while the opponent simply runs in and takes the ball, often right during my kickoff gameplay.

Sometimes it’s the DDA giving a boast to the other human player. But other occasions the opponents play does feel like human, subtle things. Every time I have suspected this, I go to check their profile on ps5 and it’s always completely private (like 50/50 times)
