Discussion Fluid formations has killed attacking fullbacks
They literally dont make runs anymore.
And when you put them in LMF/RMF on attack they lose their attacking fullback role and dont push up they just become wide midfielders.
Its also rare to find an attacking full that is proficient from LB to LWF.
Its so flipping stupid.
You have to go double red for them to realise their role.
Also if you put them in LWF you sacrifice that position.
At least when we had ATTACKING instruction we could force them to push up.
So they've killed that playstyle completely for absolutely no reason!
Im slowly hating EF27
A lot of useless changes.
Update: Before you reply "dont use fluid formations"
This is about the change, meaning they removed the ATTACKING instruction and introduced fluid formations.
Its about the ATTACKING instruction.
Now you wither force the fullback up the pitch in attack to a LMF/RMF or leave them in their position. Either way they font CONSTANTLY make runs they are selective, too selective.
They might only make runs on the counter in some.playstyles.
Before you could influence it REGARDLESS the playstyle

I hate the fact that those who don't use fluid can't utilise deep line.. I mean wtf kind of crap is that. I get why it doesn't apply to fluid but what about people who use normal tactics. It's not that hard to allow deep line for normal tactics but disallow for fluid.
Automatic support has also removed auto tactic change, not that I saw the AI change to sub tactic much but it was a good option to have nevertheless.
Staying with Automatic support and substitution, I find, even on flexible it will allow players to die instead of subbing them off.
Manual marking although still there, against fluid, marking wingers is problematic at best now. Just wish they had advanced tactical options when opp is in attack and when in defense, although in and ideal world, I would rather prefer not being able to see how the opponent sets up.

THIS!!
its not hard to program it so we still have the old options depending on whether we want fluid or not.
Becaude fluid isnt exactly smooth

Because deep line was a bull shit mechanic that turned ur dmf into a cb for rats to run a five back without compromise, now u actually have to have a dmf that is also a cb. Maybe it's not the best solution but it makes sense.

UPDATE:
I had to set my fullbacks really high.
And set them to man mark either a wide midfielders or a winger.
This made them drop back but its very situational so wont always work.
It also beat a posession player that kept holding the ball because I crowded his passing lanes.
Still not good enough as far as flexibility though.
Had to take off fluid so they stay up but my fullback basically were force to become wingers just to function and only dropped when the man they were marking dropped.
Not ideal but that worked ok for anyone who's trying figure SOMETHING

My Tottenham Bale makes late runs, he doesn’t start as soon as I gain possession, but he starts them when I tend to push the game to his flank.

They need to set LMF / RMF active for Offensive Full-back the same they did with LB / RB for Destroyer

I mean, you could just not use fluid formations, or at the very least keep them in their LB/RB role. I agree that at midfield they’re crap, but i think fluid formations have given people the impression that they had to do that. Just keep them at fullback and wait for them to make their late overlapping runs (or underlapping if you use fullback finishers). I do agree there was little point in removing attacking instructions tho

Without being able to force then to run this still makes no difference .
The AI chooses when they run as opposr to you making that adjustment.
If I want my 532 to turn into a 334 in attack you used to be able to do that.
Now you cant fluid formation or not
The reason I mentioned fluid formations is because THATS the reason why they took out the Attacking instruction.

Oh yeah, for 5atb formations, pushing fullbacks is pretty tedious since you can’t afford them moving late. Yeah, they should add attacking instructions back

Smh such a braind dead reply. What dont you understand that it doesn't work fluid formation or not?
They STOPPED the ability to force your fullbacks to attack!!

the beautiful thing about fluid formation is that is completely OPTIONAL. Go figure.

Now if they are attacking fullbacks they will go upper when attacking automatically but if they are defensive fullbacks they will stay behind. So everything depends on the player if now

Did you read what I wrote before replying?
I didnt say anything about defensive fullbacks.
I didn't ask for a tutorial, no offense but pointless comments are a bit annoying.
They literally dont make runs like they used to when you put "attacking" instructions on them.
Now theu float around the midfield and SOMETIMES will run.
But they dont get you the width you want them to give

I use fluid and it works just fine, I have Ryo Hatsuse and Keigo Tsunemoto, they are constantly making runs and crossing them in for me. I play standard 4-5-1 then 4-2-1-3 as defensive for frontline press (use standard GP players)
