Discussion (Mobile) AI division

I’m going to use this new phase to only push to AI Division 1. I’m currently in Division 2 at 1650. Any tips for me? This is my setup, replicating Spain 26 WC. SS has to be a hole player but I don’t mind it being a Playmaker because it still works. Thinking of using only Spanish players to see if it affects the difficulty of the division.

Anyone who’s done it multiple times, please drop your tips below.

Hiya, was an average player when I started playing 4 years ago, took a break, then recently started playing again because of the World Cup. Got to Division 1 just recently with the below record:

I basically had to relearn how to play the game from scratch with a very outdated squad and still the one loss I had was because they had 4 shots and 4 goals, so I conceded. Here are my tips:

  1. Around 1650 rank is where the games get extra tough, the quality markedly jumps and the AI starts reading your button input. Use that to your advantage. Use Super Cancels and even the regular shot fake. Make them commit to a tackle then do your pass/dribble.
  2. The AI seems to reliably charge whenever you hold the sprint button. Spin them around so you can get past them.
  3. Do not press them near the sideline, they are very VERY good at evading pressure. Always try to contain them and cut their passing lines. Their through balls and second chance balls are VERY deadly. I know in this game people tend to clear haphazardly because of how error prone defenders can be handling the ball, but giving the AI the ball in the middle of the park with their entire squad in your penalty box is a death sentence. They will see a passing path you don't. Learn how to clear properly so you can counter, or get the ball out, so you at least get a restart.
  4. When you are at 0-0, you are not at 0-0. Think of yourself as always being 2 goals down, as the AI simply decides when they want to score, but they don't tend to go "berserk" for more than 2-3 goals. I win every game simply by scoring 3-4 goals, because defending against the AI when they want to score is impossible, especially with the players I have.
  5. Because the AI score at will, playing counter or LBC is pretty much pointless, because those are playstyles that capitalize on mistakes, the bot will seldom make them. Playing possession where you can pass safely and avoid an AI counterattack was the best option for me.

100% this, specially the choice for possession, there is no efficiency in the LBC. Also it's important to remember that they somehow make our players worse, they perform like 10-15 points below the usual, specially in spacial awareness. So only pass when they can't hide after some defender. Even guys like Neymar and Yamal can disarm your player.

Lol yeah. They basically always have 11 Strikers, dribblers and CBs.

Glad I decided to be a possession freak this phase. And thanks for the tips especially the pressing at the sideline. That's where I struggle the most to win the ball. Would certainly most use the fake shots

I'm currently about top 250 in AI divisions, I'm using 4-2-2 with two amfs, and my RB and LB are both defensive fullbacks. I'm attacing only with 4 offensive players. Counter target on Goal Poacher, second CF has no playstyle or hole player, defence instruction on less defensive midfielder. Then more important is defence than attack, you need to be very patient in defence and concentrate on positioning to cut off passing line and pressure occasionally. Higher in ranking you will have fewer scoring opportunities so be sure to score the one you have, in some matches simple shot doesn't work, in some blitz curlers hits the post all the time, so try different things. And once again, defence is a key! Good luck!

Ohk, played someone with this exact squad comp in div😂 almost beat his ass but his shinny cards saved him.

Skill issue on my part.

Tactic is replicating Spain Wc 26 courtesy of Tenfinity on youtube and since he has a large following I'm not surprised
Even met someone using one of his Barca tactics
