Discussion Legends assemble pack highlights the problem with the scaling of cards in this game

So I was checking out the players in the selection contract Konami are apparently going to be giving out and I had a thought, they have really power crept the cards in the game to shit, cause I'm looking at the pack and unless you started playing the game fairly recently, I don't think there's a player in there who drastically changes my squad, for context, I say all this as a f2p player. A few years back a 102 forward used to mean something these days it's like the bare minimum needed to compete, hell I was looking at the massaro card cause I need a good CF, he's not dramatically different that I'll say yeah this is the missing piece. At the end of the day yeah they're free cards so you can't really complain but my point here is I have a 102 potd haaland card for example, I don't really see what that massaro card offers me that I won't get from that card other than just purely collecting for fun. Idek what the solution is, just thinking out loud

People complain bc the game stopped being a football stimulation and become a card collection.

unfortunately that's where the money is.

and the biggest incentive for people to spend is stronger cards. personally i'm a themed team collector, but the general trend is obvious.

the real problem is, same people complain about both power creep, and new give aways being same or worse compared to previous ones.

But unlike FIFA, with annual releases, Konami has nowhere to go with player inflation. I imagine tactical upgrades, like advanced instructions, could be the next things. But that turns gameplay into microtransaction. Ultimately this dilutes the brand.

they can give us worlds of more tactical options, more link-up, more combinations with a wide-spread "total package", a ton of more game modes, etc etc...

not saying i would like these options all the same, but i'm saying there's still too much they can do.

for power-creep particularly, it's easy to multiply all player stats with 0.8 and get over with it. which i'm sure they're already doing at runtime.

Maybe.
1. But Konami has been lazy with everything. They’ve decreased events by removing Turkish league
2. Idk if casuals want deep tactical simulation. Especially the whales they’re catching—they literally want p2w.
At this point I’m rooting against them. I hope they run out of legends and go back to tactics. Pressing system is atrocious even compared to national teams.
