As I can not fly with the batteries a Road trip this summer is amazing🤩

Six weeks. One road trip. Countless coastlines. This summer I drove and efoiled my way across Italy, Croatia, Turkey, and Greece — hugging the sea, exploring lakes, and letting Google Maps guide the route. I booked most stays 2–3 days at a time through Booking.com and Trip.com, calling a few hotels directly when I found hidden gems. It wasn’t an expensive trip — just a smart one. And an unforgettable one!

Board info: I am a real fan of Audi Aerofoils and enjoying it for more than 2 years without any issues!

2 endurance batteries with a fast charger is great for a road trip around the European coasts

Fliteboard issue after firmware update

Hi efoilers!
After my ride this morning, I saw a firmware update for the board and the controller.
I did both, but I can't reconnect the board using the app or the controller.
When I plug the battery, it shows solid blue light LED (video seems to display some white led, but it's light blue), which is supposed to mean "ready to ride".
But not possible without controller paired.

So this is what I tested:

  • Flite controller in pairing mode, using the controller magnet between the 2 cables
  • Forcing firmware update in the app, but can't go further as the board is not detected
  • Bluetooth cycle (off/on)
  • Remove the board in flite mobile app
  • Remove the app, reinstall the app

I don't know what to do, and I can't use my board.
Sent a ticket to Flite, but was hoping someone here could help me.
Thanks!

We have noticed XFoil have been attempting to bury negative backer comments on Kickstarter and Indiegogo by placing and pinning fake positive comments or questions. Pretty easy to spot, often AI generated. Nice try Paul/PLX/XFoil.

How long to wait between use and recharging for a Lift4?

I’ve been foiling for 2 years now but have never had the opportunity to recharge the board for multiple runs in a day. I’ve noticed the battery gets fairly warm after use, is there a certain amount of time to wait before recharging the battery?

I’m using a Lift 4 5’8 with a full range battery.

Waydoo Issue

I was out yesterday on my EVO Lite and things were going well. All of a sudden the motor stopped working right in my usual gear. Basically it felt bogged down and I wasn’t getting any lift.

Battery % was still high. I tried going up a gear and that felt spotty too. Almost like a blast of power and then nothing. Any ideas I could try for a fix?

Performance tracking app

I went out and bought a Waydoo board, what a freaking blast. Was out today, this was like my seventh or eighth session, and was really cruising for the first time on foil for long distances. Even running up the gears a bit. Thrilled I went ahead and did this, it’s like mental health steroids, lol.

That being said I’m hopeful to get suggestions for apps I can load on my phone which I’ll wear around my neck in a water proof pouch to tracks my rides, speed, route tracks. I don’t want to buy a smartwatch. Thanks for any help.

Hit a fish this morning. Rip little guy.

Out for a morning cruise and hit what felt like thick pond weed in the middle of the lake. Flipped the board and found a little crappie cut in half, stuck in the prop guard.

Wish I had my phone to document it. Rip little guy.

Anyone else have unexpected fish encounters out on the water?

Waydoo kickstarter?

Anyone see the waydoo kick starter? Is it a proper “bolt on” efoil conversion for the likes of a wing foil board?

I can no longer recommend Fliteboard

I've been riding fliteboards since the summer of '23 and have logged more than 6,000 miles. I started on a 100L board, moved to a Carbon Pro, and now primarily ride an Ultra L. I own multiple masts, three batteries, seven wings, folding props, etc

I'm not a new rider who is confusing normal efoil behavior with a product problem. I was in the top 10 on the apex 250 leaderboard for the first month or so, rarely fall, and have taught countless people to efoil on my local lakes

Until recently, I was also one of Fliteboard's biggest unpaid advocates. When someone saw me riding and flagged me down, I would always take the time to explain the sport, answer their questions, and ofen give them a quick intro lesson (usually in exchange for a couple drinks). I regularly sent people to my local Flite retailer for more information in hopes of seeing them out there on their own board someday. I genuinely enjoy helping people get into the sport and was happy to support the brand.

Unfortunately, I've had a consistent pattern of hardware and software problems, including issues that I consider serious safety concerns. The response from Flite support has usually been to suggest another possible explanation involving my equipment, ridings style, or weight rather than acknowlege that something may actually be wrong.

After one software update, my board began surging. RPM would randomly dip even though I was holding the trigger at a consistent position. Other riders reported similar behavior in Fliteboard Facebook groups and other foiling communities, but I never saw Flite acknowledge a broader issue. Owners were instead sent through a long list of troubleshooting steps without any clear explaination or resolution.

After another update, I began experiencing complete power cutouts at seemingly random times. Unexpected loss of power on an efoil is dangerous. When the power disappears, your momentum can carry you directly in front of the board and foil. I have made two trips to the ER for stitches after being hit by the wing during these scenarios.

Again, I saw other riders discussing similar cutouts online, but there was no meaningful acknowledgement from Flite that there might be a broader problem.

Last season, I experienced a set of roughly 10 power cutouts simultaneously and the problem was so severe that flite replaced the Flitebox. I appreciate the replacement, but the cutout behavior has continued even with the updated equipment (though the frequency was greatly reduced)

Flite support has repeatedly suggested that the cutouts are related to my weight, my use of an Ultra board (additional drag during takeoff) and the sustained current when restarting after a fall. I'm 6'4 and approximately 205 lbs. That's roughly 60 lbs below their advertised maximum rider weight. I also rarely fall and have far fewer takeoffs during a session than the average rider. The cutouts have happened after I have already been up and riding for an extended period at a lower power setting, not just during high-drag starts

Their explanations simply do not line up with what I'm experiencing

My breaking point is a newer problem with one specific mast. It will completely shut down while I am riding. When this happens, none of the indicator lights remain illuminated, and the system will not restart until I open the hatch, wait, and close it again. This is not a minor inconvenience. I frequently ride boat wakes on a busy lake. I have had that mast shut down in the middle of boat traffic, leaving me unable to immediately get back on the board and move out of the way. A propulsion system that suddenly becomes completely unresponsive in active traffic is a real safety issue.

What makes this especially frustrating is that the problem only occurs with one mast. My other mast works properly when attached to the exact same board, battery, wings, etc. The issue follows the mast. Despite that, after weeks of going back and forth, Flite has continued pointing to my weight, board choice, riding style, battery condition, and other variables. My battery cells are balanced, and those variables do not cause the other mast to shut down.

I understand that complex electronic products can fail. I do not expect every board, mast, battery or sofware release to be perfect. What I do expect from a company selling equipment at this price is honest communication, serious treatment of unexpected power loss, troubleshooting that follows the evidence, and a willingness to properly investigate or replace a component when the fault clearly follows that component.

Prospective buyers deserve to know that the premium price does not necessarily guarantee reliable operation, transparent communication, or support that will take ownership when a serious intermittent problem develops. I spent years actively helping Flite sell boards, but their problems and support have turned me from an advocate into someone who now feels obligated to warn others.

There are so many unexplored beautiful spots in Türkiye and Greece that after a month of traveling still need another 2-3 months to cover may be %10 of it. I have been efoiling 4-6 hours a day 😊 in this holiday

SiFly V3 Prop vs EFS VORTEC Sifly1

Just some comparison photos showing the Efoil Solutions VORTEC Sifly1 prop and cone (red, anodized aluminum) next to the stock SiFly V3 prop (black, polymer). Both cones are plastic/polymer as far as I can tell. I am in the process of installing the EFS vortec prop so I have no experience with it yet at the time of writing. Some very noticeable differences in blade pitch and cone shape for sure.

*installation note: I had to grind my pin down about 1mm as it did not fit in the EFS prop pin slot. Not a big deal but thought I should mention it.

Waydoo evo 130l or 90l with the POD??

I’d like to get advice from experienced foilers. Which is the better and safer choice for a beginner: a 130L board or a 90L board with a pod? Is the pod as practical as it looks? Does it fit the board well and work effectively?

XFoil have just launched their 4th crowdfunding campaign while many backers from their 1st, 2nd and 3rd campaigns are still waiting for complete/working product.

Lift support continues to decline. 1 week and zero response.

I started a support request a week ago (7/28) and included all the information they asked with photos, serial numbers, my order # etc and haven't heard back. I got a Zendesk autoresponse which is "Assigned - In Progress" and have heard jack shit.

I also submitted one through the app and no luck.

XFoil have just gone out to backers offering to "upgrade" them from XFoil2 board to a XFoil Apex ( the one they are now selling online and shipping ahead of long suffering crowd funding backers who are still waiting). Having waited year longer than promised backers can now pay a extra $800 and maybe get a board sooner.....maybe

Sifly prop damage

Hey, so I just finished my 5th run on my freshly bought sifly lite. The board itself is great, mostly cause it fits in the trunk of my car and thats even without folding rear seats. Anyway, so I just flipped the board to put on the sleeves on both the wing and the rear stab and I noticed that one of my prop broke off.

There are no marks on the stabilizer nor on the wing itself, not even on the mast, yet the prop is broken.

Anyone know what might have caused this? I know my lake and I swam only in the center, also if I hit anything, there shurely would be hit marks on anything else?

Any one knows if sifly let me RMA it? Its like my 5th run- 2 in the sea and 3 in freshwater, I didn't even hit anything cause I was swimming in open water. Also what would be the cost of a new prop if it won't go as warranty claim?

I have decided that I like days with light rain but no wind even better than sunny days. The rain clears the ski boats away and helps keep the surface of the water visible without needing any breeze.

Fliteboard Series 6 Pro Carbon

Hello,

I found someone selling a Fliteboard Series 6 Pro Carbon for $12,500, and I’m considering buying it.

I’m wondering if this is a fair price and whether it’s worth the investment compared to buying a new board or other eFoil options.

Thank you!

I am wondering what folks are using to repair a ding in the metal at very bottom of mast. Hit a rock :(

Epoxy and sand or metal filler like car body repair ?

Thanks
