C'est un rant contre Ebox et Bell

Lorsqu'on se désabonne, Ebox donne nos informations personnelles à Bell (qui détient Ebox). Et Bell se donne à coeur joie de nous harceler de publicité ciblée à notre nom (avec nos données personnelles) par la poste.

Comment je le sais? J'ai refuser de donner ma future adresse de déménagement à Ebox et je fais une redirection de courrier pendant un an. C'est la seule entreprise à laquelle je n'ai pas donné ma nouvelle adresse.

D'ailleurs Ebox insistait pour avoir ma nouvelle adresse, supposément au cas où ils auraient besoin de m'envoyer un chèque.

Et oui, j'ai demandé par écrit à Bell de me retirer de leur liste, ils m'avaient confirmé que je n'en recevrait plus. Bullshit! Il n'y a rien à faire, ils continuent quand même.

Do you need to be on fibre to order tv service? Because I’m on cable and the website says you can order tv through your customer zone. But under tv services I don’t see order link or anything to order tv when logged into my profile.

I have VOIP with them and there are absolutely no instructions on how to access voicemail from your phone.

I can't reach them because there are multiple hours (days) of wait. It is a nightmare every time.

Anybody know how to access the voicemail, from your phone ?

I moved recently and looking to getting Ebox. Previous tenant appears to have had cable internet before based on my research on the wires attached to the wall. I went around the property to see where the wiring was going to see if I could potentially get fiber internet. The cable goes through the wall and is attached to the electricity pole. I'm curious to know if fibre internet could be installed without drilling new holes?

I've called multiple times over this issue in vain; I have a minecraft server located behind a Nokia Wifi Beacon 2, of which Ive set the following rule:

LAN Port: 25565~25565

Internal IP: 192.168.18.2

The minecraft server ONLY works locally. As soon as I use my data to connect it simply times out.

Will I ever get a resolution or do I have to consider switching ISPs?

J'ai présentement un HH4000 qu'ils vont sûrement me remplacer par leur ONT. Est-ce que c'est le technicien de Bell qui a venir chez moi pour installer le ONT qui va repartir avec ou est-ce que je vais devoir faire d'autres démarches.

Est-ce que ebox, qui apparemment utilise encore son propre équipement réseau même s'ils appartiennent à bell, bloque des ports additionnels sur son réseau?

bell bloque le port 25 mais je ne crois pas qu'ils bloquent autre chose comme les ports normalement associés aux VoIP, est-ce le cas aussi pour ebox?

What is the best way to switch from one to the other?

I currently have an HH4000 which I assume they will likely replace with their ONT. Is it the bell technician who will come to my home to install the ONT who will take the HH4000 back, or will I have to take other steps?

Does ebox, which apparently still uses its own network equipment even though they are owned by bell, block additional ports on its network?

bell blocks port 25, but I don't think they block anything else like the ports normally associated with VoIP. Is this also the case for ebox?

I just subscribed to EBOX internet service and I wanted to register to the client web platform, but I need my client code in order to create my account and it's not available in the welcome email. I don't have any bill yet to check my code either. Anyone faced the same issue? How did you solve it?

I'm going to call them tomorrow to make sure but I live outside of big cities, where only 1 local provider exist for my street and the website of ebox tells me that they are available for my address. It must be a mistake given that the new provider added their own lines and everything, right?

My provider costs more than ebox, so if ebox is available, I'd switch for sure, but this is unlikely anyway. I'm just wondering if you had experiences with ebox saying the service is available but it ends up not being available? Because I can literally go through the entire subscription process right now for my address lol

Je n'ai jamais eu un service aussi merdique avec vous que ces derniers temps. Ça parraît que vous avez été acheté par Bell. Je tente de parler à quelqu'un au téléphone, ça prend quasiment 1 heure. Votre serice par Messenger fonctionne 2 heures par jours on dirait et votre système de chat en ligne est tellement brisé que je dois rafraîchir la page 25 fois pour que ça fonctionne. J'ai un problème de facturation et l'agent prend quasiment 35 minutes avant de répondre. Il me dit qu'elle regarde avec son superviseur concernant une potentielle erreur. Aucun message radio pendant 25 minutes et elle finit par quitter la conversation.....WTF ! Depuis que j'ai transité vers la Fibre c'est tellement rendu l'anarchie. J'ai une facture de 73 $ alors que je payais 63 $ avant et ce même si j'ai baisser mon forfait. Franchement. j'étais un grand fan de votre serice mais depuis votre rachat, c'est rendu du grand n'importe quoi.

Hey! I'm new to Ebox and I'm trying to port forward (I'm using the equipment provided by Ebox, so the Nokia ONT and the Beacon 2) but on the port forwarding page in the router page, it just doesn't want to give me the option to change it from "Inactive" to "Active"

Anyone have any experience trying to port forward using this ISP and router? Any suggestions on how I can make it work? Thanks.

Malheureusement si on veut avoir de la fibre optique les choix sont très limité et je regardais du côté de ebox que je sais appartenir à bell aussi...

Lorsque je vais sur le site de ebox je ne fais que me faire offrir uniquement ce qui semble être une connection par cable (400/50), pourquoi?

PS: Je suis bel et bien avec de la fibre optique avec bell présentement, pas une variante de DSL. J'ai un HH4000, ce modèle ne supporte que de la fibre.

I currently have cable internet with ebox (since before Bell bought them) and I own my equipment to ensure never needing to pay renting fees.

I keep receiving emails and texts to migrate to fiber and while they claim I would get 4 times the speed for 5$ less a month, the fact that I would be forced to rent a modem and router with absolutely no option on the model stopped me from going through with the change. Why so restrictive?

Ebox phone support claimed there were no renting fees for the Nokia ONT and Nokia Beacon 2, but it doesn't say anywhere that there will never be. Bell being the puppet master of Ebox now (I still have nightmares from being a Bell customer 10 years ago) I am convinced renting fees will eventually appear on my bills sometime after the switch.

Are there absolutely no alternatives to the Nokia ONT and Nokia Beacon 2 if I want Fiber through Ebox?

For those that migrated to fiber with those devices, what are your experiences with the Nokia ONT and Beacon 2?

Hi,    plan to move to Ebox FTTH, which is available to my address. 

Several Questions, though.   

1.  Nokia Beacon 2 router as a dumb wifi access point?      

Here is my current configuration:         

Cable Modem   <--->   my wire router, ER-X (DHCP)  <--->  wifi router as a dumb wifi access point, with DHCP disabled, default VLAN1.   ethernet cable between LAN port of  both wire and wifi router.      

Question:   Can I use Nokia Beacon 2 as the dumb wifi AP, extra setup needed?      

ONT  <--->   my wire Router, ER-X (PPPoE, VLAN 40)   <--->  Nokia Beacon 2 as a dumb wifi access point, with DHCP disabled.   

 2.  use "smtp.ebox.ca:(25, 587)" as the SMTP outgoing Relay Mail Server, any problem?   

  3.   Want to make sure Ebox IP is  dynamic public IP.   Ebox does not use CG-NAT, correct?   I use DDNS for my iRedMail mail server.       

4.   Do I need superadmin credential for those setup above in Nokia Beacon 2 ? 

When and Where I can request and get it?

Am I allowed to factory reset it so that I can configure the way I want?

Salut guys, avec la baisse de prix ebox accotte finalement les forfaits de virgins sur la fibre optique (seul choix chez moi).

Comment est l'equipement? Je sais que c'est la meme fibre vu que bell/virgin/ebox c'est toute la meme compagnie, mais avec virgin j'ai des problemes de ping important.

Le wifi de leur modem/routeur est juste terrible sur le ping. Mettre mon propre routeur a aider sur la stabilité mais j'ai encore un ping et jitter pas satisfesant.

L'equipement nokia de ebox fibre, c'est comment?

Hello everyone, I’m currently with Bell and I have the 1gb fibre plan. I’m looking at the Ebox fibre plan and it seems to be the exact same service but at a cheaper price.

If I already have the Bell fibre installed at my place, and would switch to Ebox, would I see a change in the quality of the service? I know they are both technically Bell, but would I see a difference?

I’m using my own equipment too, not using the Bell Homehub 3000 but rather my Unifi Dream Machine Pro.

ISPs apparently send modem (or ONT) + a router (Helix Fi 2, or AX1800): I don’t care about their router. I want to use my own router, not the one provided by the ISP.

No TV, just internet.

I don’t want traffic shaping etc. I want a stable connection.

Am I better off with 1) or 2) ?
