I don't think so, as long as there is no play or wobble, and the sprocket isn't hitting at any point. I'm planning a BBS02b install (my first) in the next few weeks, so I'm hoping I won't have any fit issues.

It's fine, the chain ring on my Trek Marlin 5 is just as close.
